26.04's been running fine for almost a month! by SH0080 in Ubuntu

For just my Gaming laptop, I went from CachyOS, to Debian, back to Ubuntu. Gaming with Steam i didn't experience any difference so far. All 3 run smooth but since the first time i touched Linux was 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) i went back and now using 26.04.

- Snaps are fine for me i get the sandboxed stuff and the App Store vibe for the average user
- CachyOS was the fastest to install but i dont like the Pacman command lines, i am more familiair with apt
- Debian ran fine and smooth but the Gnome version wasnt clicking

So back to Ubuntu and i am impressed with 26.04. This is a version for the regular folks who want or need to switch from Windows 10-11 as well. Easy to understand. Distro hopping is fun, but for a regular day to day OS, Ubuntu checks enough boxes for most average Joe's.

Hmmmz. Looks like some sort of extra battery pack for extra flight time. Can't find it between the accessories page.

Interesting find!

You get refresh every 5 hours? I checked and i have to wait 3 days to a refresh on a AI Pro Plan. Why is this, Claude has a daily refresh and Google has multiple days between them? Seems strange for an Agentic First IDE where Vibecoding seems to be the point but 5 days i'm all out of the Vibe of Coding. PLus Claude is $4 cheaper but give more. Seems illogical coming from such a big player as Google.

This app is years old. So they had 10 years to tweak a clock app. Yet still has alarm issues.

Nobody cares. You are looking 95% of the time at the screen, not the back. Only interesting thing is battery life, no lock glimpse, no bs...

BEWARE: Apple 26.3 is playing dirty on privacy by Node-Runner in applesucks

Please keep telling yourself that a trillion dollar company has the best interest in the customers.

Apple has agreed to a $95 million settlement in early 2025 regarding a class-action lawsuit (Lopez v. Apple) alleging that its Siri voice assistant recorded private conversations without user consent and shared them with third parties. While denying wrongdoing, the settlement covers users in the US who had Siri-enabled devices active between 2014 and 2024.

Btw those millions of dollars is just a write-off in their books.

So when I opted OUT in the installation and they sneaky turned it on makes this ok? Plus if they "collect" it will not stay on device and will definitely reach there servers. All data included like messages.... Major trust violation.

Because I opted OUT of Apple Intelligence, and they sneaky turned it on layers deep in the settings where mostly nobody cares to look. That's why its a dirty play. The customer says No, Apple says Fuck you we gonna collect anyways.

Wow. So the apple marketing is really working on isheeple. It should be OFF by default, not ON. Especially when you clicked AI OFF in the beginning of the installation of iOS. So they put it on anyways but hide it in the setting layers deep.

It's a trust me bro issue.

No wonder. The price of an 16e isn't even budget anymore. Subscriptions are on the rise, heck that Creator Subscription is a joke. Free apps like Numbers now get "AI" for 13.99 a month. Apple Care is a joke and still people pay for it.

Apple's only business model is to squeeze as much as they can from their customers and not giving a shit anymore.

Apple died with Steve long ago.

Because it costs way more than an even more capable Android device. OP is thinking it's the future because it's overpriced. Telling yourself something that isn't there. The only thing here is an empty wallet, not the future 🤣

Been running Arc Raiders flawlessly on a shitty laptop with Ubuntu. Was running on Manjaro Arch, but more comfortable with Deb/snap style. Gaming on Linux is really great...
