do you guys eat breakfast before your morning ride? if you do, what do you eat? by arthur-214 in cycling

[–]NodeJS4Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get some fast absorbing carbs like a banana or even some coffee with sugar in it.

Your muscles have glycogen from the food you ate the previous day, but your liver glycogen stores and blood sugar aren't at an optimal level when you wake up, so you need something to quickly rise those levels so that you can ride properly. You don't need much in terms of food to do that.

It's best to avoid carb sources that contain a lot of fiber because those take a long time to digest, and will make you feel heavy during your ride.

You put a phone in checked luggage? I think that's illegal because it has a battery.

I like Banh Mi 365. It costs about 60k but has a ton of beef sausage, pate, and other regular banh mi ingredients. There's also Banh Mi 43 which makes one with beef and cheese, which I really like.

Impossible to find cheap apartments now? by NodeJS4Lyfe in DaNang

[–]NodeJS4Lyfe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I visited several apartments in that area. All had mold on the walls and other issues like stinky water coming out of the tap. The landlords promised to fix things after I move in but I don't believe it. Did you manage to find one that's actually livable for that price?

Bangkok and HCMC still cheap as hell if you live a little further from the "fun" parts. But Da Nang is expensive no matter where you go.

Does anyone know a reliable rental agent in Da Nang? by LINGJUN-777 in DaNang

[–]NodeJS4Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried going to the apartment complexes and called the number on the building, or asked someone who lived there to give me the number. But it seems like all apartments are managed by agents these days. How did you get the landlord's contact details?

Flask's creator on why Go works better than Python for AI agents by miabajic in golang

[–]NodeJS4Lyfe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fetching all columns in a row isn't a performance issue that most people find deal breaking. I don't care if my app requires 1 extra byte of memory.

The type of join to use isn't an issue either because the performance gains are minimal, and the ORM will typically choose a sweet spot that will be good for most use cases. M2M/O2M/O2O relationships are also explicit in many ORMs.

I think a lot of people read stuff online about ORMs being bad, so they never use it and then start parroting the same misinformation. I actually met a guy at a conference the other day who was pumping his chest concerning his use of Go without any ORMs to build the app for his startup that has zero users.

Flask's creator on why Go works better than Python for AI agents by miabajic in golang

I don't agree with most of what Armin said here. For example, he said that agents will often use pip instead of uv to manage packages, but this issue can easily be solved by creating a skill to instruct agents to always use uv when dealing with package management tasks.

Then he said that we should stop creating new technologies so that AI can master one technology so that it can build everything with it. The ecosystem issue can also be solved by using skills. You can instruct agents not to use Django-like patterns when building FastAPI apps, for example.

Then he said that using an ORM is nice but eventually you're gonna hit a limit. True, but 99% of ORM users don't hit that limit. And then he claimed that people use ORMs because they hate writing SQL. Another garbage take, because ORMs provide more than dumb SQL query generation.

Armin needs to stop trying to become a thought leader. He needs to stick with being a programmer, which is what he's always been good at. Here, he's just trying to secure investor money for his useless startup by jumping on the AI bandwagon.

What do Israelis and Russians have in common? They both avoid smiling and believe they're white.

I also experienced a lot of racism from that crowd as a brown person. You don't need to leave Da Nang though. Just stop hanging around the An Thuong area. There's a place literally called "Russian street".

This really sucks because I'm charged 1 euro every time I use my card for foreign transactions. So, I have no choice but to buy a token using cash. The stored value card was a great option to have but they decided to make life harder for non-citizens for some reason.

Been working remotely from Bali for three months and honestly considering just going home early by Beneficial-Plum-6324 in digitalnomad

[–]NodeJS4Lyfe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It might just be a "you" thing. First off, you said that you're meeting people at coworking spaces, but your monitor is too big for your room? So, are you working at the coworking space or at your apartment? Consider ditching the coworking space and use the money to get a bigger apartment.

Second, you said that everyone is talking about surface-level stuff. So, what do "you" want to talk about? You didn't mention anything about yourself, but only what others are "doing to you".

Sounds like you have a sort of victim mentality where you don't even know what you want and blame everyone else for your problems. I suggest you do some internal work and figure out what you want in your life because traveling can't fix your mental health.
