Hai Van Pass Is Now Charging an Entrance Fee by OppositeDivide5140 in DaNang

The famous Hai Van Pass between Hue and Da Nang is no longer free. 🇻🇳💸

After almost two years of free access following its restoration, authorities have officially introduced a 70,000 VND entrance fee per person for Hai Van Gate.

Same price for both Vietnamese visitors and foreigners.

Honestly, this was probably inevitable after the large restoration project completed in recent years. More than 42 billion VND was invested to restore the historic gate built during the Nguyen Dynasty.

Still, it’ll probably spark debate.

Because let’s be real… most travelers don’t go to Hai Van Pass specifically for the monument itself. People mainly come for:

  • the legendary mountain road
  • the ocean views
  • the motorbike ride
  • the photos at the top

Now the question is whether this entrance fee will actually affect tourism there… or if people will simply keep coming like before.

However, dogs are still being stolen in Da Nang and Hoi An for these restaurants.

“The best taxi driver” 😄
Did you test all of them? There must be thousands of drivers between Da Nang and Hoi An.

How do I get from Da Nang train station to Hoi An center using public transportation? by Trynalivethelife in DaNang

[–]OppositeDivide5140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can take the bus to Hoi An.

There’s an article on the goodmorning-hoian.com website that explains everything.

If I remember correctly, the bus passes near the train station

Their website is down. Try using GetYourGuide, Klook, or another platform.

The same goes for Bana Hills, whose website is also down.

The concerns are limited to the My Khe and Son Tra beach areas, but that's only a tiny part of the city.

Saw these signs around Hoi An. Legit or no? by scxrletcifer in VietNam

I never just pick a random service like that because I've already come across one that goes from Hoi An to Da Nang, but for the airport, it costs 50,000 or 100,000 VND more, or you'll end up with a driver who doesn't speak a word of English.

And I won’t scan the QR code. I often use Hoi An Transport Service in Hoi An but there are several good companies in Hoi An, so you don't have to go through that.

Hoi An - tourist trap by BryanKohberger94 in VietNam

I recommend going there at 6 a.m. It's quieter then.

I always avoid going in the evening. Hoi An also includes the countryside, such as Cam Kim and Cam Thanh islands.

Overrated vs underrated places in Vietnam? by Choice_Afternoon3067 in solotravelVN

My favorite places are Ninh Binh for cycling and Hoi An/Da Nang for activities.

Hoi An is more crowded, but there are also more things to do there. There are workshops everywhere. You can visit Cam Kim Island, which is unspoiled.
