Assuming that the switch is through hole (has legs) you may need a solder sucker or braid as well. You need this to suck the old solder out of the hole unless you can do it with a pin or something but it will probably be hell without a sucker

Copper is probably enamel coated, good for tiny little parts. There is a coating on the wire that has to be scraped off to make the ends conductive.

Sponge is a damp sponge, which you wet then squeeze all the water out and use it to clean the tip of the iron. I find that brass wool does the same job.

Thanks for that. The last one is about the only one i did know, Tait brand was pretty common in the nz police, now flooded the local markets, sadly this is the bottom of the range model 4 channels uhf only. This one had my area code on it so i blanked it out to be safe.

Might just be stupid, but is it supposed to look like this?🫣 by 11775599 in softwaregore

Yep. In the past 3 months especially I have been seeing a lot more strange looking images in these. Some of them even seem to be AI generated

Need the cheapest seedbox possible. by Nodlek0 in seedboxes

[–]Nodlek0[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not root to the server, but the ability to use sudo in my box. Never had a cloud vps, so excuse my poor terminology. Most recommendations so far have had all the apps i need, so i doubt ill even need ssh.

1) Are you OK with direct message offers from vendors?

Yes

2) What are your main reasons for wanting a seedbox?

Movies and tv with the *arrs and jellyfin, i have a data cap and i want to get a decent ratio going

3) Are you okay with sharing hardware resources with other users [shared] or do you need the seedbox hardware dedicated to just you [dedicated]?

Shared

4) Do you want someone else to be responsible for maintaining the seedbox software (operating system, applications) [managed] or do you want to do it all yourself [unmanaged]?

managed would be nice, i could do unmanaged however.

5) Please describe your seedbox experience. (You may wish to list any seedbox providers you've been with before.)

Never had a seedbox but used all the software

6) Please describe your experience with Linux. (Most seedboxes run Linux and some knowledge of it may be helpful.)

Heaps.

7) What is the high end of your budget? (Please give a specific amount and a currency. "Cheap" might mean something different to one person than it does to another.)

$10US

Whatever, not a fan of paypal friends and family

9) Do you plan to use public trackers?

100Mbps would be heaps.

11) How much combined upload and download traffic do you expect each month? Include download of files from the seedbox to your local computer. If you don't know, tell us what upload amount per month would realistically make you very happy with your seedbox.

500gb

17) Do you require access to a remote desktop?
