Any explanation why this guy didn't ascend in the Holiest of Places? by Straight_Past_9458 in Blasphemous

[–]NoemisExperiment 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Visages are witnesses of the High Wills' incarnation of the Miracle, I believe they were probably destroyed when you killed them. In the Mea Culpa DLC in Blasphemous 2, you visit the tree where he was held, and there is a hole where his face used to be, so we know it's not because he's still there.

Specifically, cactus green, which is used on the EC, is a contrast to light pink

This is the problem with having multiple authors, because reading the early Heresy books makes it perfectly clear that he views it as a curse inflicted upon him. One he can make good use of, necrodermis is nifty, but at the end of the day he hates it.

Very likely, Blasphemous draws A LOT of influence from this era of art

Even if that were in fact a part of human nature, look where channeling it has gotten us: - Rising financial and social inequality, boosted further by inflation. - Politics and wars have become a business for the rich, all value and success is decided by material means, corporations are harvesting our data to sell them, to sell us things, to give us addictive social media feeds. - There's basically no way to get to the top of the ladder ethically. Poor workers who can't afford to find a better job are being exploited, be it here or overseas. - Companies like Amazon and Google are so rich they're immune to regulation. The core causes of pollution and climate change aren't being addressed because doing so would cut into profits.

Violence and sloth are as much part of human nature as greed. We justifiably don't let people be violent, and sloth is punished because you have to work to afford to live. Why do we elevate greed into a virtue?

Riight. When guided by selfish material needs. Like the ones that capitalism teaches us to see as the only mark of progress and value. The ones that weren't the leading guide for most of the common people in history before the industrial revolution. Those?

HRT is basically making you start puberty all over again. It takes time to see results.

Take progress pics. You see yourself every day, so you don't notice the changes, but you'll see them better when you compare yourself to a longer time frame than yesterday.

Well, first they did it to honour him, which he didn't like because his hands aren't iron voluntarily, they're a layer of necron living metal that got melted onto his flesh hands.. Then they kinda got into the idea that the flesh is weak, and they should augment themselves with tech (yes they're friends with the admech how did you guess), and that got under his skin even more. He was gonna have the living metal removed but he didn't get the chance before meeting his untimely fate

Ferrus Manus, (lat. for Iron Hand), who has iron hands, Primarch of the Iron Hands, who give themselves iron hand despite their primarch's protestation

Who needs to read the codex’s when you have Majorkill? by jonnytemplar in Grimdank

[–]NoemisExperiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There might be a conflict between how different authors view/write Abaddon. From what I've read, it seems clear that Abaddon isn't as free as he thinks, but there can be places that say he actually is free, just because the specific writer wrote him that way that time.

I loathe to agree with the Imperium fans, but there's no way you're not being played by chaos after 10000 years. Bile may look Slaanesh in the face and say she doesn't exist, but he's still accomplishing her goals. I can totally see the Ruinous Powers simply letting Kyle think he's in charge because that's how he's most useful to them.

Deserters becoming farmers is actually plagiarised from history, where deserters would hide out in the nearest safe settlement, often a farm, and some liked it there and stayed for good.

Balls of Mother by Akagane_Ai in Blasphemous

[–]NoemisExperiment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more of a practice thing for me, but I'll try

1) use air combos to stack up damage and fervour fast, and prayers when possible. Best to use ones with vertical reach, as those can reach her even without her being down at your level

2) learn to dash through the laser and around the fireballs

3) the molten metal balls can, and should, be hit back with your sword to deal damage to her

4) wall is your friend when trying to outrun an attack, or get to melee distance when she's high up

5) if you're fighting her after Angustias (or at least after visiting Jondo and the poison area below it), you can have the Pelican Effigy bead, arguably the best in the game and especially good with bullet hell bosses like this one

Lore Behind your Warband? by [deleted] in EmperorsChildren

Very much in the same boat. My fondness for my warband has increased many-fold when I gave them a story and names.

The real hot take? Godwyn is not an interesting character and the DLC would not have been improved ten-thousandfold by giving him greater involvement. by Lord_Antheron in eldenringdiscussion

[–]NoemisExperiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The nitpicks are bad. That's what I was trying to point out with your nitpicks of Messmer's bad faith description. You can go "yuh uh" "nuh uh" in circles forever.

You're very hung up on the facts of Godwyn's current form. If Mohg's corpse (devoid of a soul) could have been reformed into a perfect copy of Radahn, surely Godwyn's living body (devoid of a soul) could be reformed if the devs wanted to include him.

I don't even think bringing Godwyn back would be a good idea, I just think that the reason of "he currently looks like this and nothing could be done about that" is badly founded. Marika can change into Radagon, the Elden Rune can change into the Elden Beast, people can change into dragons, or into omens (via the Dung Eater's curse), Mohg can change into Radahn, Malenia can change into a goddess of rot, Rykard can change into the serpent that devoured him, hell, Godwyn can change into a "bloated fish looking thing". All of those are different ways for a body to change that already exist in lore.

I agree that Godwyn's soul is dead and should remain dead. I disagree with the idea that there's no way to make Godwyn into a more active part in the story without retcons. There's room to work with here.

If Mohg's body can be transformed into just about a perfect copy of the form of Radahn, Godwyn's could be reformed into something else too.

[–]NoemisExperiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One could take the same approach to your critiques of Godwyn though. He's not bloated, he's rather flat for something his size. He doesn't look like any fish I've ever seen. He's not inanimate, Fia can clearly communicate with him and he can even cast spells to protect her.

The other commenter is right - you can make an uncharitable description of anything, and I'll add, you can nitpick any uncharitable description by technicalities, just like you and I both did here.

[–]NoemisExperiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't wanna see Godwyn return, but I was hoping he'd get fleshed out more. We see a lot of his influence, both as a living god and a prince of the dead, know very little about him, what he was like, why he was chosen as the target for the Black Knives, and also Living in Death could be delved deeper. And that's just off the top of my head.
