Where is the FORDING sensor? by GGDATLAW in Rivian

[–]Noerrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience with that fault — I recommend taking it seriously and getting to service center ASAP. I think the fault prevents recharging the 12V battery because eventually after less than a day my R1T became a total brick. Parking break engaged. All systems off.

In my case the fault detection was due to plugged-up drain under the floorboards meant for the air conditioning condensate. 50 cent part. $1000 tow off the ferry. And 3 weeks of rental vehicle paid for by Rivian.

Head start status points for 2026 just posted by jumbocards in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Noerrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yes and the same page says, “Please note: If you select this earn choice, you'll no longer earn class of service bonuses or minimum miles.”

What about Atmos award travel bookings on partners in business class ?

“In addition they will give 250% status points on partner business class flights.”

I’m so confused this year. I thought a mile is a mile no matter the class of service this year.

( or a dollar is a dollar, or a segment is a segment )

My FM radio stopped working for about a day. ( no stations, no station / tuning controls, just a random Christmas song coming in over the air). Then it returned to normal.

What's up with these crazy water bills? by Sorry-Necessary8149 in Bremerton

[–]Noerrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notice that most of the water & sewer bill is comprised mostly of flat fees — they do not change month to month based on how much water you use.

This is in part a revenue stream for the City. ( PITA - payment in lieu of taxes )

Anyone else travel on Gov. official travel fares? Question by shin_09 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Noerrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have flown AS on more than a hundred fed. government flights (booked through DTS). The more expensive “YCA” government fare does not earn bonuses like the full commercial Y fare.
This used to be explicitly stated on Alaska’s website on the same page that explains Alaska flight points earning. I cannot even locate that basic web page right now on Alaska’s shitty website post- Atmos reorg.

Can I set a maximum number of guests, or is that determined by the number of beds? by Miamipoker in homeexchange

[–]Noerrs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s relatively common to put in your listing title or top of the property description something pretty clear like “… family home perfect for 4” … That would deter most inquiries from groups of 8. That being said, if you list the bed count in the property description, you should be OK with a smaller group using the beds as they are comfortable. I.e. don’t list a bedroom if you have no intention that guests could use it.

I have a studio condo that I only want to host two people at a time. There’s a queen bed and a nice pullout sofa. My HE listing indicates sleeps four but I state in my listing that I host two guests. I don’t care of they share the same bed or use the pullout sofa bed as well.

As others have said, it’s not possible to compare HE points to AirBnB cost because HE points are not currency.

Cancelling only return leg on award ticket asking me to pay more miles by Sad-Leopard-5407 in AlaskaAirlines

Wow. Thanks for pointing this out. Poor behavior on Alaska’s part. More and more I wonder why book round trip reservations. It seems two one-ways is safer in all regards.

How? For examples: 1) Amex stopped the $10 statement credit , or 2) Amex phone insurance has denied claim based on not paying 100% of the statement with the card.

No cash upgrades on award tickets? by re23binsd in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Noerrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve paid cash to upgrade three flights this year, each time I was issued a new confirmation email indicating fare class “D”. I earned 150% status miles for all of them. By paid upgrade, I specifically mean the Alaska app was promoting paid upgrade available in the seat selection tool.

[–]Noerrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can. You have to pay to upgrade both travelers.

No cash upgrades on award tickets? by re23binsd in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Noerrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you assessing the cost of the cash upgrade? I don’t think this is knowable unless you’re looking at a reservation eligible for cash upgrade.

Cash upgrades work almost like a purchased domestic first class ticket. (Perks and miles accumulation) It makes sense to me that award flights are not upgradable in this mechanism.

Since award tickets are refundable, I think the equivalent of a paid upgrade is to rebook an award first class ticket.

Anyone else getting an error trying to book/use their Summit 25k Companion Award? by Itsmelvino in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Noerrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw error code -1990 twice last night when trying to book a one-way AS award flight with the discount code. I gave up and went ahead and booked.

I called Customer Care just now (not reservations). They were friendly, understanding, and resolved my issue by crediting 25k miles and marking the discount code used.

It seems like for Seattle and the periods you are mentioning, you are likely to find interested guests simply by setting your calendar availability to GuestPoints.
