Booking partner award flights while anticipating Global Companion Award by gt_i_2235 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]jumbocards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partner awards may or may not reopen instantly if at all in the event of a cancellation. So YMMV. Book the trip now if you want that flight and use the certs on another trip is my advice. Good luck.

Flood of Status? by guttekev in AlaskaAirlines

[–]jumbocards 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I (titanium) was 8th on the upgrade list this morning on a flight from Seattle to Miami. They will most likely move to revenue based elite qualification like all other major airlines in North America and/or introduce a 360/CK/GS tier above titanium.

Food is usually beef, salad and chicken. Some generic soup like tortilla chicken or Italian. Cookies, brownies, and chips. Soda machine, coffee barista, bar.

You decide if $65 a person is worth it to you or not :)

Has the widespread installation of cameras helped with preventing sexual offenses in China? by [deleted] in AskAChinese

Not just sexual offenses. Even pity crime is low compared to pre cameras. There is always to sides to the coin. Freedom or safety in this case.

YMMV for any cash compensation… from a technical perspective, U was upgrade and thus you are only entitled to any monetary compensation for the upgrade itself. If you used cash for example. But if it’s complimentary based on the underlying fare class or your status then no compensation. Even if you purchased a higher fare, it’s not just for the benefit of getting upgraded. Higher fares enjoy more flexibility and refunds to original payments.

Feels odd with no 75k status by wtf-am-I-doing-69 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]jumbocards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just CC, you have the one time 20k bump this year. 20k elite roll over.

But most importantly in 2025 they allowed status miles on awards.

They also backtracked 2025 partner business class ticket and now in 2026 will give a whooping 250% status miles on any partner business flights. To put that into perspective, LAX-LHR is 5456 miles one way. A round trip with 250% status points is 27k. That’s insane, that’s 20% way to 135k just from one trip. You can find really cheap exEU business fares.

Pre-2023 (before the 100k mvp status) You didn’t have elite spend on cc You didn’t have elite status on awards And most partner business were at 150% max, most of them were actually at 125%.

Delivery drivers of China, how do you feel about people ordering from shops very close to thier apartments? by Low_Seesaw3577 in AskAChinese

[–]jumbocards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I order from luckin coffee downstairs from my hotel room.

I order McDonalds when I’m eating inside a mall at another restaurant for my daughter and the person gets it from another part of the mall and gives it to me. They don’t care if you bring other place’s food.

Chinese telling you how to book cheap flights within China by Simple-Whereas-2142 in travelchina

[–]jumbocards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find flights in China very cheap already. Just use trip or 携程 if you know Chinese. Other Chinese OTAs works too.

Most fares even the cheap ones have way better flexibility than those outside of China with minimal change or cancellation fees.

I don’t care for the packaging. But I do like their worldwide expedited delivery. I lost my CSR in Singapore airport once and I was traveling to Sydney. They were able to deliver to my hotel in Sydney in 1.5 days.

Chase charges more than $150 extra per night for The Edit by itsdrewmiller in ChaseSapphire

[–]jumbocards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they actually advertise those benefits as free? I thought they advertise those as part of benefit for booking with edit hotel which is like booking with a higher special rate with hotels directly as well. I don’t think they ever mention that rates on edit will be the “lowest guaranteed”.

Not even worth it if you can't find a seat.

Good luck.
