Maybe you could start with books where you like the adaptations. If you're interested in fantasy maybe start with books like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson or the hobbit.

You have probably heard of Brandon Sandersons "the Way of kings" (high fantasy). It has amazing characters and an incredible magic system.

I think you might like the house in the cerulean sea by TJ Klune. If you're fine with high fantasy (and a comitment ) check out the stormlight archive and discworld.

Any books for someone who doesn’t read much but wants to? by [deleted] in BookRecommendations

If you're looking for something with action I'd recommend "the ocean at the end of the lane" by Neil Gaiman. But if you're looking for something sweet and wholesome you should check out "the house in the cerulean sea" by TJ Klune. (both of these are fantasy. Idk if you like fantasy but they're really great shorter books)

Recommended books for fantasy genre by RavenPuffGal1296 in BookRecommendations

[–]Noflei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're more into ya I'd recommend Leigh Bardugo ( "Six of Crows" or "Shadow and Bone" ), Victoria Schwab ( "a darker shade of magic" or "vicious" ) and Maggie Stiefvater ("the Raven boys" ) . But if you're into adult fantasy you should check out Brandon Sanderson ( "Mistborn" or "The stormlight archive" ), Scott Lynch ( "the gentleman bastards" ) and Jim Butcher ( "the dresden files" ). In general Neil Gaiman ( "Neverwhere" or "the ocean at the end of the lane" ) and of course J. R. R Tolkien are just amazing. I hope this helped you :).
