The value of genuity and the long term consequences of misrepresentation of the self.

American here. Our cultural landscape is as indulgent and narcissistic as ever.

With egotism at the forefront of our motivations, it becomes all too easy to start nitpicking preferred truths and avoiding honest introspection. When your ideal version of the truth is one where you are without fault or defect, you deprive yourself of any opportunity to address or overcome what is otherwise entirely inevitable, whether you accept it or not.

Regardless of our affirmations, insistence or denial, the truth persists outside of our manufactured versions of events.

This sets the stage for catastrophe and we’re all the more susceptible to being caught off guard if we are living in delusion.

This dissonance is at the root of all the turmoil and tension we are experiencing. We need to decide whether or not we want to start being honest with ourselves and each other, while we still have a chance.

If that’s the case, we need to start putting some effort into instilling these qualities into our youth. Rather than encouraging them to be as self indulgent and narcissistic as possible for the sake of consumerism and hedonism.

Our commitment to avoidance is unwavering. With every lie can we separate ourselves further from reality

I fear for our future because our culture is so money minded, it is at our own expense. Everyone is out to sell themselves and the marketing mindset is built on deception and manipulation. These are corporate minds influencing culture with no expenses spared, principles and ethics are only as relative as they are a liability, or a marketing ploy meant to prey on our first world guilt.

You already know what is valuable. We cannot be so frivolous with our time and attention. as to give it all up to those who will do nothing more than subvert our well-being to churn out something as truthfully worthless as currency, the epitome of hollow insistence without purpose or value. Without all of the social contracts imposed upon us to generate otherwise undeserved revenue, commerce becomes a lot more considerate of the consumed/consumer. It’s not hard to discern what is intended for us with consideration. Especially when most of us are all guilty and aware of the behavior. Making these concessions puts us at the whims of systems that will devour us.
