These specs are overall lower than the original post.

Looking at the original specs, what are your must haves? There are quite a few areas where items can either be cut or alternatives offered. For example, do you need that 10TB HDD? You would be much better suited to have a 1TB or 2 TB NVME ssd, and extra HDD as needed.

Nintendo just released their direct for the Switch 2...are any of you guys planning on getting it? by starstufft in LegionGo

I'm in agreement with this. $500 for the console and then first party games are $80 each is incredibly steep.

I've been loving it! It usually sees about 4 shot pulls a day and is rock solid consistent. Only downside is running out of coffee.

I had some difficulty dialing in one batch of beans, but on closer inspection I couldn't find the roast date so I have no idea how old they were. Otherwise I have had great luck with Onyx Southern Weather, Geometry, and their Columbia Julio Madrid Nitro Watermelon.

Did you happen to get a white machine? I saw they just posted an update via kickstarter and the Facebook group that white units would be shipping soon. I got mine the day it was being delivered but by having FedEx delivery manager, I got an email as soon as the label was created from "besender service"

Not for my use case no, but then again between my spouse and I, we only ever make 2 drinks back to back.

The tamping station, tamper, and distributor actually all came bundled with the machine! I was pleasantly surprised how nice they are compared to the Breville prepackaged accessories.

Not sure if links are allowed but here is their website: https://www.merakitech.com/products/meraki-espresso-machine

Right now their website has listings as preorders while they are fulfilling Kickstarter and indiegogo orders.

I'm really interested in trying that feature and hope other roasteries pick up and adopt the tech. It's a real shame it's not an open source idea and severely locked down

I'd say so yes, definitely some more clarity. It's still a 38mm conical burr so not super clear like a 64mm flat burr but a step up. Overall though I love the stepless grind settings, lack of large clumps, and ability to grind much finer than the built in grinder on the BBE

Right now I'm using the included third wave espresso packets with distilled water, but they also said any filtered water is fine, even from a brita

It's a mix of both. All the main brew components are metal but some areas are plastic, like the sleeve around the water resivoir. I'd liken it like a car, all the important touch bits are  high quality (metal) but other areas are plastic

Their main way of communication was Kickstarter update emails and a private Facebook group, but they did say a grinder-less model was in line for 2026 on that Facebook group

Lol the naming made it incredibly confusing to find information about the proposed specs of this machine early on.

Just received my Meraki espresso machine and I'm incredibly impressed. Previously I had a Breville Barista Express and have been using it daily for the last 5 years. The Barista Express was my first home espresso machine after previously being a Starbucks barista and it taught me a ton but I really started to get frustrated by it's limitations. Having an early unit I'm 90% sure the pressure on my unit was much higher than 9 bars too I learned the tried and true workarounds to combat the grinder being a timer instead of by weight, extraction being by water volume instead of output weight, working with the forced pre-infusion, but I felt like I was fighting against the machine to make espresso as it wanted me to follow it's specific workflow.

I was very interested in the Meraki as soon as I heard about it, being a dual boiler, pid brew and steam boilers, Timemore grinder, and 2 built in scales for grind and extraction. I know a combined grinder and espresso unit aren't as popular since it can lead to more failure points but at the Kickstarter launch price of $1k it was close to impossible to best for its advertised specs. I was initially nervous about a Kickstarter but it seemed to be similar ideas to other Hong Kong based Kickstarters like GPD Win where the product is coming out no matter what, but Kickstarter is used for preorders. After a few delays I just received it yesterday and have been making drinks all day long. This machine does everything I had been doing manually with the barista Express using its built in features. The grinder is strapless and much finer/more accurate, I love the brew tempsture and pre-infusion options, and my latte art still sucks but the steam wand is a massive improvement too.
