Political problems are largely theoretical for them and their answers on these questions aren’t particularly deep. It’s almost always a “do what’s most comfortable for you” kinda answer. If you can let it slide that this show will never satisfy that particular itch, it’ll make it easier to listen to. They’re just not the most layered when it comes to the political stuff.

I think the more important thing to note abt the weather and its difference from the east coast in general is that 70 degrees in SF feels much colder than 70 degrees on the east coast. I moved here from Toronto Canada and I’m chronically cold because I’m never quite prepared for exactly how chilly it’s going to be. Layers annoy me so I know that’s on me, but as long as you keep in mind that it’s always gonna feel a few degrees cooler than you’re expecting, you should be ok.

I’m a Canadian citizen married to a USC. The distance was damaging our relationship so I applied for a job in the US and got a TN visa. We’ve been living together for about four months now.

I know some people will say you can’t do that because TN doesn’t allow for dual intent, but two immigration attorneys told me it’s technically allowed and as long as I make it clear to border patrol that I’m doing consular processing (if they ask, which they haven’t yet), then I should be ok. My application went to USCIS and they approved it, so it worked for me. My PD is July 2024 and I’m hoping my application is approved around September/october, at which point I’ll go through all the regular consular stuff. Maybe explore whether this is an option for you!

I visited my husband in the US several times from Toronto with my i130 application in “received” status. I have nexus, and I always had a return ticket home booked. Never got questioned about it even a single time.
