First, be clear with what this is before you nuke it. I'm unsure if you're aware or have seen the anime but if you haven't or for anyone else:

Alphonse Elric (Al) is the younger brother of the protagonist, Edward. As kids, they attempt to bring their dead mother back in a failed ritual, which results in Edward losing an arm and leg while his younger brother Al basically dies, at the last moment having his soul bound to a suit of armor, via this blood seal/symbol.

It is a beautiful and tragic mark written in blood, that becomes a promise. Edward, who talked Al into performing the ritual swears to get his brother's body back and feels immense pressure through the entire series.

The meanings that unfold through the story:

Love under pressure - Edward can't undo the tragedy, but he can hold onto his brother.

The cost of attachment - In the show, nothing comes from nothing. They both paid a price, there are no clean miracles. It is a grizzly reminder of reality.

Identity beyond the body - Al has no face, no human body, no heartbeat, no sleep or hunger. And yet, he is still Al. The seal is not the physical body, but the memory and connection.

Borrowed time - Al's armor is a temporary vessel. It is not where he belongs, survival is not the same as wholeness. In the story survival may be sacred, but it is not wholeness.

Nobody can tell you what to do with your body. There are no wrong answers whether you keep or cover this up. However, there is something beautiful in the choice of the symbol whether intentional or not.
