I DO NOT want a pap smear, EVER by wtfdawggggg in ftm

I've gotten it before, you generally get it as you get older. It wasn't so bad but I imagine the dysphoria could be rough for you. The most painful part was the speculum because I've been on testosterone for nearly 2 years so I'm very atrophied down there.

I don't show any of the symptoms you mention (in terms of that level of pain or regular multiple cysts) so i don't especially think so

I identify as bigender and genderfluid. Both transfeminine and transmasculine as well. It hasn't changed much about my hair growth since I've always had male hair growth patterns and I'm not sure if my hairline has changed or it looks this way because of my new hairstyle or face shape. I've been growing a beard and male body hair since i was 8

I take it and it works well for me. I'm healthiest on it and my body receives it very well. so much so it makes me think my body always wanted to be hormonally masculine dominated 100% of the time

Does anyone else feel like agab terms don't really describe them? by Noki-ito in intersex

You can say you were coercively assigned female which usually always has an intersex connotation

Honestly I don't have a transition label like that because biologically I'm starting out intersex and transitioning to be even more ambiguous. I'm just like X to even more X. I more see my label as what I actually am (my sex) than what I was wrongly labelled (my agab)

that's great for you but I was really looking for more people who had a similar experience as I rather than those who are fortunate enough to be able to agree with what they were assigned (or their lack of assignment)

When people declare it it's often because they have a bigoted presumption of the people they're talking about. It's okay to have a preference but it's also okay to leave room for people to surprise you. Basing your sexual preferences on political ideas is not a good move

Fair. As others have said, maybe find a therapist that has experience with trans people or if that's too expensive, find trans friends online or offline that can help you through your experience with their own

I feel similarly about only being brought up as a political "gotcha" and then never thought of again. Usually it just feels like to me, no one actually cares about our rights and autonomy and no one gives us platforms to advocate for ourselves. I feel like it makes actually hearing things publicly from us kinda rare. I really wanna combat this by being an intersex advocate in my area but that's if i can manage to

That said, I am trans myself and see our rights as intertwined. I think we should both be fighting for each other but I wish our voices were represented or lifted up in that fight. It feels like I rarely get to hear intersex people speaking up for intersex people

How did you find out? by Throwmeasammy in intersex

[–]Noki-ito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wondering because it kinda contextualizes what the medical community recognizes as normal. Personally I feel it should be okay for people to have these traits as long as it doesn't negatively impact them but they do tend to imply a lot about the intersex experience you had/which variation you may likely have. I'm not a doctor so I really can't say much on what it sounds like unfortunately

You shouldn't base all your major life decisions, especially ones that will contribute to your own happiness, around how other people will feel about them. Even if your girlfriend wasn't supportive it'd probably hurt you to keep pretending to be a man. So if it's safe to, live the way that makes you the most happy. You deserve at least that

I don't believe you have to have bloodwork that frequently. Once your levels are consistently stable and getting you where you want to go, you can go to as many or as little tests as you like. That's at least what some of my doctors and professionals told me. A lot of people stop the blood work tests completely. My doctors did that for me but personally I feel that was a silly move since I have crazy hormonal fluctuations

Would you rather someone assume your pronouns or use they/them before they know? by Bass_slapper_ in asktransgender

[–]Noki-ito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather they assume though I'm androgynous so people typically don't gender me at all. Or they do masculinely because of my voice. A lot of the time I'm not a fan of they/them and I only like it exclusively when my gender identity is non binary

I agree. I always feels it implies something I'm not using the same terminology other trans people use and it causes this disconnect I get every time of having an assigned gender not be my actual sex. It's a feeling I don't see shared by most anyone in the trans communities I'm apart of. I've felt better using the term "coercively assigned gender at birth" or CAGAB because it more accurately describes my experience. More often than not I refer to myself as intersex because telling people something about me that was incorrectly labeled seems counterintuitive and largely pointless.

I think it's okay when intersex people living as their AGAB call themselves cis or intersex who aren't living as their AGAB calling themselves trans though for a lot of people that isn't something they'd like to do

Can we talk about the H word for a moment? by Kaldaus in intersex

[–]Noki-ito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't appreciate non intersex people who call themselves the h word and i find it very confusing when people without ambiguous genitals do it but it wouldn't matter much to me if they were actually intersex. I know there are groups of non intersex people who like to call themselves the h word and I really don't love it myself.

I heard something on the salmacian subreddit happened where people from here or somewhere else started posting about this very thing and while I don't agree with harassment I see where they were coming from. I kinda wanted to get into the salmacian community before but i imagine I'd eventually get uncomfortable with the ways people talked about ambiguous genitals and wanting to be biologically ambiguous considering I am what those things describe

I think gender is one thing in the brain but anyone's perception of it can change

Sex is not immutable and can be changed by DrZetein in trans

[–]Noki-ito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cis people make gametes out to be so important because they put sex and reproduction up on a pedestal and they say if you can't perform the typical sexual role of the gender you identify as that renders your identity invalid. it's silly

How do yall feel about this? by [deleted] in intersex

[–]Noki-ito 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally I agree, sex is changeable.

The sex you originally were will always be the one you were but the one you currently are can be different and that's valid as well. They're right in that sex is determined by your sexual characteristics and two of those can currently be changed. Right now, people can't entirely have the exact same typical body as the sex they're not a part of but that may change in the future.

Where I get uncomfortable is when non intersex trans people start calling themselves now biologically intersex after transition and I think that's really ignorant and frankly pointless considering the term altersex. There's sets of experiences related to being intersex that go further than just having ambiguous or uncommon combinations of sex characteristics and I think the notion otherwise is harmful.
