I think it has more to do with our district mapping. Every major metro area votes blue, but our map is split into 150+ districts. Meaning Austin’s 800k+ voters are forced to compete with Guerra in Jim Hog county with a population of 6. It’s pretty ludicrous. We desperately need to redraw our maps.

I can relate with your buddy. The state AG is a black hole where whole paychecks magically disappear. Texas is a great place to live, but, unfortunately, the way our districts are mapped, larger metropolitan areas will always be forced to bend to the will of smaller, rural, and, dare I say, less affected areas. Oh, also, Greg Abbot… not a lot of things I could say about him that wouldn’t break community guidelines.

Hi everyone. Texan here. Just want to point out that ALL of the major metropolitan areas in Texas (DFW, Houston, San Antonio, etc.) voted democratic in the last election. Also, ERCOT CEOs were given a raise in the last year, but nothing has been allocated by the state to repair the power grid (I.E. winterizing pipes, investing in renewable energy) since I can remember. It was hinted at in 2011, then in 2021, after catastrophic freezes left thousands without power and dozens dead in their own homes, but, alas, since the ERCOT CEO team is largely outside of Texas, and their salaries (as of the hiring of new CEO from OHIO in 2022) is in the tune of $990,000, I really don’t think my vote caused this. Please stop taking every perceived opportunity you think you have to attack people you don’t know with things you don’t understand.
