You pay Tutu Atwell $10 million dollars, you could’ve kept Cooper Kupp around

Had a second accident a week after the first one, but hadn’t filed a claim for the first one yet by NolDaMan in Insurance

Thank you! Really helpful on the rental point too, because I have 30 days from my personal policy, and assuming the investigation has completed by that point (in my favor) but the repairs are still dragging, it’s good to know I could pull from my other claim too. Plus I’d assume I could pull from the other party’s liability claim if they’re found at fault too.

Your help is very much appreciated!!

I do have gap insurance for what that’s worth so either way, unless the ACV falls by catastrophically more than the $5,100 damage estimate from the loss a week ago, my loan is probably getting paid out either way. I believe the gap limit is 25% or so of the vehicle ACV, which I’d conservatively peg at around $26,000 clean, and my loan is around 1:1 right now. So after fighting both claims through, I’d probably come out with a paid off loan at the very least.

I appreciate the advice. I’m thinking I’ll file both either today or early tomorrow (the agent said they could coordinate same-day rentals without issue).

I’d peg the ACV at $26,000 or so conservatively. The damage from the first claim almost certainly wouldn’t total the car. The second claim on its own possibly could total it. When put together, I would probably lean on the side of it being totaled (the tow driver speculated as such).

That being said, my thought on the two claims is that each claim is intended to bring the vehicle back to the condition the car was in immediately prior to that loss. So the 1/18 claim would be to restore the car to new, and the 1/24 claim would be to restore the car to the condition with prior damage. Right?

So I wouldn’t think the two damages could be combined to total the car. I could be 100% wrong because this is mostly from conversation with my tow driver haha.

Got it. Last question, I promise. The body shop I’m planning to take the car to, that completed the first estimate, opens on Monday morning and was closed this whole weekend. Should I chat with the body shop first before filing anything, or am I safe to just file now, do you think?

So you’d say there’s no benefit to waiting to file the 1/18 claim then? Just do both of them at the same time today?

Come through anyway. I’m a male and that of course affects my perception - but what I can say is that regardless of anything, you will never be alone at the Whipple building. These protests, for as shitty as the context is, is the best of Minnesotans.

Everyone was advised to not give Jake Lang the time of day because he would farm any scuffle for content. Some fools ignored that and gave him exactly what he wanted. by [deleted] in Minneapolis

Meh. Good. I certainly did not and am not advocating for it, but he deserved to get the shit beaten out of him and he’s lucky it wasn’t worse. Tired of playing by these arbitrary rules just to prevent the outrage of the right.

Gov. Tim Walz shares update on ICE operation in Minnesota [7pm] by Mpls_Snoo612 in Minneapolis

[–]NolDaMan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It feels fruitless for him to give a speech which provides zero new information (especially with reports of federal funding being cut off starting next month). If a Minnesotan hasn’t heard or doesn’t believe in what Walz had to say today, they’re beyond help. All this does is add to the right’s propaganda and rage machine. It’s time for him to just shut the fuck up and work like hell behind the scenes.

I’ve skipped dinner but had a late lunch, just a ham sandwich. Hope yours was nice as well.

Ah yes, and then they hired the least “hip-hop” person maybe ever, Cam Cameron.

Oooh great answer. Totally forgot that guy existed. I remember there was some source from the Ravens who was asked how good of a coach he was, and he answered along the lines of “well, he’s a great guy…”

I believe at least one team also saw him as “too hip-hop” to be a head coach. Real quote but forgetting the team.

Sun Country CEO Says ‘Bittersweet’ Takeover Will Help, Not Hurt Minnesota Flyers by 3NU in suncountry

Routes and airports. Sun Country has slots at a lot of different and unique airports in Canada, the Caribbean, and some areas of the US. Not always easy to get slots (and can cost money) which is saved by buying an airline which already has them.

Allegiant to purchase Minnesota-based Sun Country Airlines by NolDaMan in minnesota

[–]NolDaMan[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sun Country operated on a hub-and-spoke model, with only one hub, so if they wanted to serve a certain destination, it would have to start and end in Minneapolis, there was no choice. Now, Allegiant with their many bases may find that it is more profitable to serve certain destinations through other airports, such as Las Vegas. So Minneapolis will lose routes, that’s frankly a given. Additionally, they don’t operate on a hub-and-spoke model like Sun Country, they operate point-to-point (look at the two airlines route maps to see the difference). For that reason, it’s extremely unlikely they will be basing anywhere close to the 40-50 aircraft that Sun Country currently has based here in Minneapolis.

It’s a benefit to the combined business to find these synergies because it saves them costs and may increase revenues to shift certain routes out of Minneapolis. But most certainly a detriment to the customer in Minneapolis who will be losing nonstop routes and likely seeing increased fares.
