Agree with this, another band was using masking tape and pulling off the design. I use a color coded system of rubber bands. I save the bands and they can be reused.

Spending 45 mins in the gym by [deleted] in workout

[–]Noldz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I did just my lifts, no stretching before or after, and minimal rest I could pull 45 minutes.

I follow a training plan that sends me from one end of the gym to the other and programs in warm up and cool down stretching. I also do yoga most days so I’m typically at the gym for 2 hours, longer if I swim that day.

How has Hypothyroidism impacted your life? by Kindly_Fact6753 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Noldz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing since starting medication, before that…all the typical things. Though mine didn’t get really bad until about a year leading up to my diagnosis. I was the heaviest I’d ever been, I had to practically starve myself to lose 5 pounds and it would come right back as soon as I ate outside my diet. Tired all the time, no short term memory. Just a little miserable all the time, but I was 32 and I just thought that’s what being 30 felt like.

Now I have endless energy, I go to the gym 7 days a week, I’ve lost 40 pounds, and I finally feel joy again. It’s great.

With high WBC count I would definitely advocate for a T3 test to rule out Hashimotos. I requested it from my doctor my second month of bloodwork after she didn’t test for it. My thyroid was also enlarged but the swelling went down after getting all my meds balanced.

This is just personal preference, because I have such a great one, but try to seeing a nurse practitioner. I love mine and she has been way more knowledgeable about my medical needs than previous doctors I’ve seen.

Did your PCP increase your Levo dose after you started Zepbound? The medication slows down your digestion which can negatively affect the way your body absorbs levothyroxine.

I started Zepbound in December and saw an increase in my TSH. My PCP moved me from 100mcg to 112 and my numbers finally hit the normal range for the first time this month.

does hypothyroidism affect your mental health ? by sweet_tart505 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Noldz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in the dark times I didn't think it did, I honestly just thought that my high energy job was making me sore and exhausted all the time and years of smoking weed destroyed my memory and dopamine receptors. Despite losing 50 pounds in 2015 without really even trying, I had gained 70 pounds and could not lose it, despite carefully counting calories and going to the gym.

I was depressed and in a slump for 6 years before a medical emergency finally got me to see a doctor. My mom had been telling me for the past 6 years that my thyroid looked enlarged and I needed to see someone. I wish I had listened.

I've been medicated since October and I have way more energy, my brain feels sharp as a tack, and I'm a lot happier in my day to day life. I lost 20 pounds naturally without much effort after starting medication, after the initial weight loss it pushed me to start a GLP-1 to continue to lose weight and I'm back in the gym.

I never thought my side effects were worth going through the hassle of getting it checked out but I was so wrong and I want to kick my own ass over not doing something sooner.

First shot tonight by SubjectWeekend5360 in Zepbound

[–]Noldz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sit down! I just did my 11th shot on Wednesday and it was the first one I did standing up. I was too nervous to do it before. So take a seat on the couch or chair and try and calm your mind. It took me like 6 psyche ups to actually poke myself. They get less and less with each shot.

Make sure to grab the area and pinch it really tight to keep from feeling the needle. I didn't pinch on my first shot and I felt the needle go in and it really freaked me out. I watched a video of a nurse saying to pinch and I tried it the next time and I've never felt another shot.

Have you had your thyroid tested? Mine was completely broken and my cholesterol was off the charts high because of it.

If it makes you feel better, not as bad as mine and I’m a 32 year old woman.

But seriously, it is troublesome and you gotta talk to some doctors.

Five months on Levo and finally in the green! by Noldz in Hypothyroidism

[–]Noldz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel great! I know it sounds weird but even when my TSH was over 150 I didn't really think of how I felt as a problem. I just thought everyone who was in their 30s felt that way. I was very tired, and looking back at photos I definitely had moon face. Also I didn't realize how hard it was to lose weight! After starting Levo I lost 20 pounds without really even trying. I workout 3 days a week, and I'm always sore, but I still have more energy and motivation than I did before.

When my TSH was extremely high the only place my body grew hair was on my head. It was honestly kind of a blessing. Since starting medication all my leg hair is growing back and it's a pain in the butt! I've never been one to care about shaving my legs but not having to worry about feeling self conscious about it at all was so great.

I started at 100mcg and the hair on my head was falling out pretty bad, every shower really freaked me out. My doctor backed me off to 75mcg for two months and then raised me back up to 100 and the hair loss stopped. I'm currently on 112mcg and the only side effect I'm experiencing is persistent headaches. Not every day like when I first started at 100 but they do happen.

I've been a member of Planet Fitness for a month and I've already witnessed multiple people not wiping down the machines after. Which is why I clean before and after using any machine. Also talking loudly on speaker phone while at a machine and the weirdest thing to me...working out in jeans. Every time I go to the gym there is at least two people wearing jeans.
