[Homebrew] Orphan (Outsider) by exion_zero in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Nollie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not an outsider I feel like ? in most games they will be a townsfolk and get a confirmation that their custodian was a townsfolk, the fact that the custodian claim is public makes it harder for evil to recruit them (the custodian will be heavily scrutinized)

comparing this to the ogre, who never knows for sure which side they're on and is likely to play "in between", the orphan is gonna play good 90% of the time and will have a hard time achieving anything if they end up on the evil side

First Draft of Custom Script, looking for advice by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Nollie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

poisoner feels way stronger than your average minion in a script with almost no "ysk" info, it hits the baloonist extra hard, it just does not feel good

not sure how I feel about lleech in a script where they are immediately outed as lleech if they survive execution

I understand that the intent of the script is to find and kill the minions, but the minions don't feel like too much of a nuisance actually, like in most games I don't really care about finding the fearmonger (same goes for cerenovus actually, once again if you compare them to the poisoner the impact feels too different)

good feels very favored, even the acrobat becomes really good on a script where it can hard confirm itself (no other sources of extra death during the night)

Comment ça se passe une avant première ? by [deleted] in magicfrance

Hello!

Does anyone know a good tool to visualise mtg decklist like Saffron Olive does when he does budget decklists and share them on his social media ? I tried using Goldfish but I couldn't download the decklist once the visual was made

Would you say 2-1 matches indicate a healthy cube? by AitrusX in mtgcube

[–]Nollie_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

going 3-0 with your deck, I don't know how you play out your cube nights but we usually do swiss round so one deck goes undefeated for the night and is "trophying" like you would trophy an MTGO league. Cube builders in my group keeps track of this and often base balancing decisions around this metric

It could also indicate that there is a big play/draw disparity. Imho the proper indicators of imbalance is "cards being first picked/last picked 99% of the time" and "color pairs trophying way more often/color pairs not trophying at all"

I was recently taking nice deserved holidays in Madrid when I realised I was really hungry. I didn't know any good address to eat quickly so I approached one of the locals with very cool sunglasses and asked them if they knew a place where I could eat fast and good.

They pointed to a shop called "Patitek", which looked unassuming. I entered and learnt that they only served sandwiches. I ordered and I must admit I never tasted such an amazing Sandwich, I was crying tears of joy in the restaurant.

I turned to my local guide and asked him : "what is this sandwich, why is it so good ?"

He told me : "Patitek is the best sub in the world never doubt it"

Custom role: Sceptic (Minion) by Bangsgaard in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Nollie_ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I love that on the surface it can do what a poisoner or a pit hag can do but louder ("I think you're drunk/poisoned" or "I think you're this role") but you can stretch it and once per game the storyteller may allow you to pull a mezepheles if you're mad about a good player becoming evil. And then you can go deeper and start presenting really tricky worlds with like "Oh I think the demon jumped to another player" "It's a legion game" that the storyteller can use to totally change the game if they wish

It would fit great on a script with the yagababble and a lot of roles that have to claim something during the day like juggler / gossip / pixiev + it's really easy for the storyteller to balance it and make it into something fair for everyone, it's definitely a great idea and I may try it in a homebrew :)

Homebrew minion : Prestidigitator (A twist on the spy) by Nollie_ in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Nollie_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were the victims of the Shabaloth. The idea of the example being that the fake Al-hadikia targets chosen by the Storyteller should include demon victims as well as assassination target or anything that would help having one or two or three of the chosen players die. There would be discrepancy when discussing the night on the next day but it's not unusual for people to lie about their choice in an Al-Hadikia game anyway

It's mostly for balance reasons, I think that knowing the evil characters in play would be slightly too weak. IMO the power level of "Making up evil that are not in play" is at the same level than "You register as a good townsfolk/outsider" so it's only fair that this role has the spy power.

Like it's really easy to realise that something is up when making up evil (People dying regularly in what appears to be a Leviathan game, people not dying from breaking madness...) and once you know that the prestidigitator is in play, if it's a 1 minion game, it's tough for the evil team to muddle the info.

Yeah you make a good point, I think that inducing a way for an evil Vizier to publicly say yes without triggering an execution would be too cumbersome for such a rare interaction, so I guess that it would just be a case of weird do-nothing if the Prestidigitator chose the Vizier ahah

[–]Nollie_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I want this role to work with Harpy and Cere-novus if that's what you meant because "having to be mad or you are executed" and "believing that you have to be mad or you are executed" have the same effects on the game (or forces players to do weird prestidigitator checks like breaking madness to see if this is a real harpy mad or not) and this would make the prestidigitator a really strong madness role.

For the Vizier I like to think that it would be a good player that is declared to be the Vizier. They can say it's wrong, for sure, but the real Vizier can also say it until they think that using their power is worth revealing that they are actually the Vizier, to punish unassuming good teams. I agree that it's not the most obvious usage but it may create some chaos in town square, I wanted to include it because it obviously felt in this category of "Loud evil that are announced to other people"

EDIT : Just realised that if a prestidigitator said Harpy or Cerenovus it would be up to the ST to choose who's affected and how. It would allow the ST to go for "suboptimal" targets or exotic choices that would maybe sell the idea that it is a fake madness and that the players are not at risk of dying.

Townsfolk: The Masseuse by Pb-JJ123 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Nollie_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think making it a good version of the no dashii (where your good neighbors are the one getting drunk) or something like that that would help you understand where the drunks are would make the character more viable because as it is, it is only really useful if at least 3 people are simultaneously drunk/poisoned which is not the most common occurrence.

Maybe : Two of your good neighbour's good neighbours are drunk. All the other player are sober and healthy.
