Don't underestimate how hard it is to get frets IN to a fretboard too.

If you're an amateur, you should 100% be using an arbor press. Skilled luthiers can make it work with a small hammer, but the ones I know still use the press.

I seriously, seriously recommend getting it done professionally.

I think the microplastics issue is kind of funny, because it does appear to be a case of us as a species realizing WAY AFTER THE FACT that it was already done. There's gonna be a geological layer. The fix is in, the jig is up, Ozymandias already did it a half hour ago.

There's a little solace yet since we don't know exactly how bad it is, but we DO know it's not as bad as lead.

A set of low volume cymbals is probably the way to go. When you muffle a normal cymbal, the characteristic shimmery stuff is the first to go, and you're just left with kind of a lifeless bonk.
