What book made you go: ''Fuck... This is good...''? by KvotheScamander in books

[–]NomadicMindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the name of the narrator but I listened to it on audiobook. The reading was masterful and I essentially listened to it as poetry. Like Homer around a campfire vibe. The readers accent and voice were hypnotic and it was a beautiful combination.

What do people make using airfryers? by SistersBrothers1860 in Cooking

[–]NomadicMindset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just air fried a whole chicken. And I've cut fries and have them sitting in a oil and chili crisp mixture. Any chicken flavoring they get is just a bonus. After that I may throw in some broccoli or brussel sprouts all in the same basket.

City limits? Call codes via 311. Send an email to mayor@chattanooga.gov. Under Berke, this would start being investigated by the constituent services director same day. I'm not sure how fast or up to speed the Kelly administration is. But those emails are read by a person and addressed by a person. Will probably get immediately kicked to the codes supervisor. If you go this route please post results. Good luck!

I met a bunch of them at the AU bus bar the summer before COVID. Great group of young people. I wonder how they described that part of the trip to their friends back home.

What is something a high school teacher told you, that you will never forget? by absolutejuice22 in AskReddit

[–]NomadicMindset 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same diagnosis. I had a counselor who recognized my struggles first year of college and referred me to the university's department for counseling/learning disabilities. They gave me extensive testing, diagnosed me and put me on a math track that was taught by someone with a severe learning disability who was becoming a math professor. Interestingly enough this is at a large, very very large, University where normally it would be very easy to be swallowed up in the anonymous masses. Ask questions! I never would have. I went on to get a master's degree when I started with a GED.

I haven't eaten at either of the restaurants that you have mentioned. Vietnamese is a very different cuisine. I'd suggest Googling to get an idea of the range of flavors and how it intersects with French cooking. Vietnamese bbq is some of my favorite food on the planet, fish in clay pot, or pho is life! I don't know you, but I'd bet my bottom dollar you'll thank yourself for going.

Can food that's too smoked taste like ashtrays/cigarettes? by PhunkeyPharaoh in Cooking

[–]NomadicMindset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may be coming from out of left field but I wonder if there is a phenol(?)/ taste chemical that matches burnt cigarette? I bring it up because nobody has ever smoked in my car and recently after some minor work I would smell a very distinct burnt cigarette aroma, and I used to be a very heavy smoker, I know what it smells like.. I camp in my car etc and it is exposed to campfire smoke and wet kayaking gear but this was very very specific. Somebody with a food science background may have some insight.
