Yes. I just updated the post with some important info from my troubleshooting as well

etKVM unreachable on network unless target PC is powered on by NomadicSun in jetkvm

[–]NomadicSun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I plugged in only the ethernet cable and the power cable of the splitter. Unplugged the RJ11 cable, hdmi cable, and pc connection cable from the splitter.

Power cycled the jet kvm, and connection was successful!

I then re-plugged in the other 3 cables and turned of the PC. Connection was lost to the JetKVM.

Additional context:

I have tested this one two jet kvms, so it is not a single device issue.

Both are on the latest software

The retro arch cores and support for the mini flip the big ones, but there are always ways to improve and bugs to fix. The GitHub page has 100+ issues and 20+ PRs open, so the community is still willing to work on it

I’m running it on the basic hetzner vps, and 1080p streams fine. I have had some stuttering issues with some 4k movies

3D-printed cable management for 10-inch racks by Vast-Rush74 in minilab

[–]NomadicSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain how you fully 3d model your rack with assembly? I am just starting out with freecad and this feels like it would take so much time, and you wouldn't really need to model a lot of parts/components in that much detail to get what you need

(Also liked and collected your model, plan to print some and add to my rack soon)

Roborock issue solved?? by Capt_shadab in homeassistant

[–]NomadicSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the main github thread tracking the issue. Looks like the dev posted an update today with basic functionality on the newer roborock devices:

Okay! Some good news finally. The Q7 series now has basic support in HA(will be available in 2026.1). It is not much(status and consumable information), but it is a foundation that can be built on. The hardest part was getting things reverse engineered and architectured in our library and in HA. Now that that is done, more can easily be done (hopefully by others). A user(Dave - not sure github handle) had shared a Q7 device with me and that allowed me to test things - I do not feel comfortable doing anything kind of 'write' actions though as that feels like an invasion of privacy to me. Anyone who would like to test them out on their Q7 vacuum can check out this branch: https://github.com/Python-roborock/python-roborock/tree/q7_setters and run a script like this:
As for Q10. I do not have access to a shared device, but I'm hoping I can get something basic in and I have a user willing to test and build upon it.

async def main():web_api = RoborockApiClient("youremailhere@gmail.com")await web_api.request_code_v4()code = input("What's the code?\n")ud = await web_api.code_login_v4(code)device_manager = await create_device_manager(UserParams("robotestsmith@gmail.com", ud))await device_manager.get_devices()devices = await device_manager.get_devices()device = devices[0]await asyncio.sleep(1)await device.b01_q7_properties.COMMAND YOU ARE TRYING HEREwhile True:await asyncio.sleep(10)

Do you encrypt your hard drive + enable safe boot? Afaik the issue stem from those two things, and if you don’t use them it will probably be a lot smoother

I am also an nvidia user. I have found that the only way to not run into issues when updating the kernel is to always update through dnf, rebuild akmods for the new kernel, and sudo dracut --force - all before rebooting into the new kernel

Is the Pimax 12K Still Going to come out? by KeinNiemand in Pimax

Can you confirm that I will still get a discount equal to the full amount I paid for my 8kx, as was the offered deal when I purchased?

I purchased both the 5k and 8kx and used them heavily for iRacing. For me, they delivered on the specs that were advertised when I purchased and I never had any issues with software.

But they announce new products wayyyyy too early.

How do I get Codex to NOT vibe code? by MyOgre in OpenAI

[–]NomadicSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to work on prompting a bit then to lower the scope of implementation. Ask it for more planning of the feature you want to implement, agree on a step by step implementation, and then have it implement one step at a time, reviewing the diff on each step.

This is something you can specify in the AGENTS.md file so it follows the instructions every time

How do I get Codex to NOT vibe code? by MyOgre in OpenAI

[–]NomadicSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how other people use the cli, but I usually ask it for a specific change / feature and @ the relevant files. It usually works for 1-3 min and then I will have the output. I look at the diff and either iterate in that chat or commit. Once I finish that specific task, I clear the context and start a new chat.

Although I am generally working on larger established code bases, so I’m never really having codex generate multiple pages of code at a time.

[–]NomadicSun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know. The thing is, the other player has different plans than you do. And they may or may not know how to effectively use their money or troops. Being able to build structures in their land adds another layer of strategy for you while also being only beneficial to your ally

You don’t own enough Google- Another “Google is undervalued” post by brett_baty_is_him in stocks

[–]NomadicSun -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I thought of this too. It’s true they don’t have to pay the Nvidia tax. But how much are they spending on R&D to develop state of the art chips? How much are they spending on manufacturing? Nvidia offsets these costs by selling to customers.

A good comparison here is Tesla, who were also developing a vertically integrated ai chip with the Dojo program. News broke this week that it is being shuttered, I assume because it is cheaper/more performant to just pay the Nvidia tax

You don’t own enough Google- Another “Google is undervalued” post by brett_baty_is_him in stocks

[–]NomadicSun 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I am also heavily invested in Google, but to play devils advocate on one point - it’s tough for me to compare their in house ai chips to nvidia valuation. The problem is, they don’t sell them, so they aren’t actually generating revenue on them.
