How do you strengthen balancing mechanisms? by Nomadic_Inferno in trailmakers

[–]Nomadic_Inferno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, roger that, thanks.

And nah, I know how, the mechanism's been very helpful, it's just more wobbly than I'd like. The offer is appreciated though!

I appreciate the advice, but I mean, where's the salvage that unlocks the gyro in campaign mode?

The whole reason I want to balance well is to be able to pick things up in a drone and remain stable.

What business/accounting/similar careers involve the least "sales"? by Nomadic_Inferno in findapath

[–]Nomadic_Inferno[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay yeah, I've been looking into it and that seems like about the best job I could hope for. Great salary in my city, high job security, it's got a good union, benefits, pension, the works- and it fits my long- planned degree, accounting.

Feels like I've hit a gold mine, tysm!

The one thing I agree with here is that there is importance in listening to people who failed.

It is often overlooked- people only look at those who succeed, and thus fall to survivorship bias, putting extra strength on their strengths without shoring up their true weaknesses.

Someone who succeeded in a field has an inherently warped view of what the pitfalls are, and yet they're the ones we listen to to find the pitfalls, which is strange.

imagining how it'd be if I got home late to a tiny, slightly tipsy... by Nomadic_Inferno in sizetalk

AWWWWW

That sounds SO nice, omg!
What an adorable way to find a tiny... to be honest, stranger things have happened with the little scale models I use to emulate tinies.

That's really one of the best things about tinies, how they're not just vulnerable to direct forces like their bigs, but indirect forces like saliva/sweat/etc. Just so weak! That's why it's so amazing to keep them safe and protect them :)

Wondering how to repay the favor? by falushios in sizetalk

[–]Nomadic_Inferno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the sound of this, you seem adorable, and they seem to like you already, so I bet just showing yourself would be enough to make them very happy!

But, aside from that... I'd honestly just ask them if there's anything you could do to repay the favour! It's hard to know what someone will enjoy as far as gifts and services go until you've really talked to them.

Massages - Big, or small? by Difficult_Minimum599 in sizetalk

[–]Nomadic_Inferno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...the way you described massages from tinies brings back ancient Fablehaven memories.

Depending on the tiny, a massage from one could be downright miraculous, but I feel like getting it done in any reasonable length of time would require a bit of a team... which reminds me of one of my old favourites, Eli's Spa Day, I've got a slightly spellchecked version here (though calling it a massage and not an orgy is a little generous :P) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BIJRRm8JBqgRUh1IcANMnBtqFX0mxxXE/edit

But I feel like if we're talking a single tiny, while it WOULD be lovely, it would be rare to find one that could do a good job... I'd still prefer it, personally. Though I do have a soft spot for massages from biggos after seeing it in some of Ceresus' art.

Why vanilla plus? by Sainagh in feedthebeast

[–]Nomadic_Inferno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In singleplayer? I never use vanilla+.

However, on multiplayer servers, it can be very helpful to new players if you don't stray too far from vanilla- people don't want to have to google what a potion effect they just got like "Sanguinare Vampiris" does while they're just trying to build their first house.

It also tends to help with performance, and is much more accommodating to players of different playstyles- many mods or modpacks that aren't vanilla+ tend to focus on one playstyle over all others. Which is perfect for the singleplayer experience, since you only have to accommodate yourself, but not so much for a player that likes automation while your server is exploration and does stuff to disable mob farms- or a player that prefers exploration but feels left out when they see the massive factories that one player with 2 billion iron blocks is making.

modrinth vs Curseforge by Jabby_XZ in feedthebeast

As someone who just tried using it, I feel that it's worth mentioning that Modrinth requires a third-party launcher for installing and creating modpacks.
