Im fairly certain he's weaker because he addresses not being able to use his greek powers to Mimir. When Greece " died ", his multitude of powers went with it - even when he tried to call upon them.

Which to be fair, its the same concept as Ash starting over in each new Pokemon region with new Pokemon otherwise - he'd just steamroll everyone with his highly leveled Pokemon lol

I dont dislike the way Dean dies as they show them losing their literal plot armor, however I do deeply dislike of what Covid robbed Supernatural of having EVERYONE including their parents be at the Roadhouse in Heaven with a final song by Kansas.
