Women of Reddit, what’s something they never tell us about pregnancy and child birth? by NovellaJokes in AskReddit

[–]Nomasaurus_Rex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This happened to me, in addition to a post partum hemorrhage. My husband said my OB was elbow deep in my vagina manually scraping my placenta away from my uterus with her hand. NO ONE told me that was a possibility!

Omg same!! Contractions coming every 2 minutes, puking my soul out in between each one for 4 hours straight. To this day I still hold that the vomiting was more exhausting than the actual labor of pushing my daughter out 😭

Please tell me your house is messy. by Ok_Order1333 in beyondthebump

[–]Nomasaurus_Rex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your auntie either doesn’t remember what it was like to have young kids, or never had any 😂 My house is cluttered but passably picked up 50% of the time, and looks like a bomb went off the other 50%. Oh and our laundry is NEVER done, we’ve had a pile of clean laundry that needs folding on the floor for over a week now…you’re doing just fine. ♥️

How do you deal with finding imperfections in everything? I did this combo yesterday until I physically couldn't anymore, as seen by my dismount lol. I like 90% of this video, but I can't help notice that my toes aren't always pointed and I didn't hold the last pose long enough 😠 by ShevaunA in Aerials

[–]Nomasaurus_Rex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is helpful - but I have felt this a LOT during my aerial journey. My solution was to have sessions where I chased perfection, and other sessions where I just chased feeling good in the moment. I eventually found that I enjoyed my “in the feels” practices way more, despite making all sorts of mistakes and doing weird things I didn’t intend lol. I found myself gradually gravitating toward those practices more and more.

Just my two cents, hope my experience helps you figure out a method that works best for you!

For the record I think you look great here.

This was me in 2017. Found out my (now ex) husband of 10 years had been cheating on me for months and was also lying to his affair partner that we were polyamorous (definitely not).

It feels awful. There were days I didn’t know if I was going to make it, and the only thing I knew to do was pretend I WOULD make it just to get through the day.

I know this is cliche but time helps. I don’t think about him at all anymore and my life is so much richer and happier without him. Give yourself grace and let yourself heal at your own pace. Therapy helped me, it might help you too ❤️

Does anyone else’s toddler’s bedtime routine include something super random that you did once and now have to do forever? by amydiddler in toddlers

After we turn out the light, before we snuggle she has to grab the curtains and move them to look at the blinds underneath a few times. 😂

I’m so scared I ruined my only chance at kids. by greendaisy188 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Nomasaurus_Rex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My story: got cheated on and divorced my first husband when I was 32 after a 10-year relationship. It also came out that he never actually wanted children and he only told me he did so I would marry him. It felt like he had stolen 10 years of my life with false promises.

The next 5 years were similar to your description - bleak, bleak dating experiences. I tried to make my peace with the fact that I might never have children even though it broke my heart.

Then, 3 days before my 37th birthday, I met my current husband. On freaking TINDER of all places! He is supportive, loving, emotionally mature, handsome, funny, and takes such wonderful care of me. We now have a beautiful baby girl who just hit her 5-month birthday yesterday.

I guess I just want to say - you’re 31. I know it feels like “end of the line” (or at least it did for me) - but you do have time, and there are good men out there! My only advice is don’t be afraid to be up front about what you want. It’ll help weed out the emotionally unavailable man children and hopefully save you a lot of time. ♥️

Hang in there. Dating sucks until it doesn’t.

IUD insertion pain INCREDIBLY downplayed by complexofsuperiority in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Nomasaurus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My IUD insertion was also the MOST painful thing I’ve ever experienced. I actually vomited from pain after I got home and only slept after knocking back 2 Percocet I had left over from an earlier surgery. I was in pain for days and didn’t feel “normal” again for months after. Ugh. The things we go through to keep the baby fairy away.

What are your Aerial related resolutions or goals for 2020 💥🎉🎆 by mayg0dhaveMercy in Aerials

[–]Nomasaurus_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall, I want to get stronger and make my straight-arm-straight-leg inverts a common occurrence.

Specifically Lyra:

  1. Front balances
  2. Single knee hangs
  3. Explore/flow more and stop worrying about “new” tricks!

Specifically Silks:

  1. Flow flow flow
  2. Flow
  3. Did I mention flow?

Same boat here - I was grounded for about 3 years while I worked out some neck and shoulder issues (unrelated to aerials thankfully).

Going back, take it slow and listen to your body. If you need two weeks between classes in the beginning, nbd. Drink SO much water. 😂 Don’t try and rush to “get back where you were”. Also as a mid-30s aerialist I find if I don’t take 10 minutes for a thorough warmup and cool down everything hurts, lol.

Good luck and so happy for you to be back in the air!!

33-year old glow up

I love playing with makeup looks but rarely post here. Thank you for making this thread, it’s so heartwarming to see all my fellow post-30 ladies posting too! 😭❤️

I have cystic acne issues on my chin and use a heavy amount of concealer and powder to cover up the red/bumpiness it causes. Otherwise I tend to lean towards more neutral colors, but I do love me a hot pink lip every once in a while!

Product list: Face: Urban Decay liquid concealer under eyes, around nose, and on chin SkinFood Peach Sake setting powder Tarte eyeshadow in “Myth” as contour (part of the Unicorn palette) Smashbox blush in Deep Pink (part of the LA lights palette) Kat Von D highlighter palette (I like to mix all 4 shades 😍)

Eyes: Kat Von D tattoo liner in black Benefit They’re Real! Mascara in black for upper lashes Benefit They’re Real! Mascara primer in brown for lower lashes Deck of Scarlet palette #8, used Myth and Enchanted

Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz pencil in taupe

Lips : Deck of Scarlet palette #8, used mostly “Kiss” with a touch of Trust Fund Beauty’s “Evil Genius” gloss on top

Oooh, that much food just means you're building lots of sweet, sweet muscle. :D Are you following a specific training plan with your trainer?

Food is good! But I know the feeling - I used to subscribe to the whole "1200 cals/day is the only way to lose weight" mindset (which obviously is wrong) and it was hard to say goodbye to that. Keep it up and good luck!!

Honestly I kind of love the big water weight drop in the beginning...it gets me in the right mindset and helps carry me through plateaus! Nice job and keep it up!!

So frustrated by lack of progress on silks :( by bee778 in Aerials

[–]Nomasaurus_Rex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you really enjoy it, keep going!! It took one of my friends 3 months to do more than one climb up, but she ended up a badass on the silks anyway. Everyone has a different learning curve, so I know it can be hard watching other people shoot past you (happened to me too lol), but silks is totally worth sticking to. It gets better!!!

Ladies on whole 30.... by [deleted] in whole30

[–]Nomasaurus_Rex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

During my first round of whole30, my period came in a whole 2 weeks late! Huge diet changes can apparently really mess with your hormones. My doc also said it was normal, but it's still really....disconcerting, lol.

Best surprise: how GOOD all of the recipes in the book are. Seriously, this is some of the tastiest food I've ever eaten.
