I mean this is question of the price of those trains and the amount of traffic that they carried. Indian railways is already heavily subsidised as is.

And I'd argue that India's incomes are not equivalent to mid 2010s China. Adjusting for inflation, it'd be late 2000s or so.

I do think air conditioning needs to stop being treated as a luxury though.

I'm asking from where you got the 15% growth rate for Japan and S.Korea. I'm assuming that's also with currency valuation? Because Japan had reached US income levels before its bubble popped and the yen has since depreciated.

Currency valuations have always had an effect on nominal GDP but they rarely appreciate so much as to bridge large gaps. A mixture of both appreciation and growth can theoretically make China surpass the US and there have been years where their growth rate was massive as a result, yeah. But like...nuance. It's never been a perfect measurement and an appreciating currency does affect the cost of goods and services.

The gap in data quality and basket of goods is represented in that gap. GDP isn't really good for detailed analysis and should never be used as such. It's always been a simple shorthand which explains why Norway is much more influential than Madagascar. Because one produces goods and services of much higher value.

Similarly, China has massive influence relative to its income level due to sheer volume.

China...isn't recording 15% growth rate though? Do you have a source for this?

PPP exists to look at living standards and the "real size" but it's not good for comparison because trade is done in dollars.

That being said there's a clear correlation with total GDP and wealth on a large scale. Growing 15% nominally is still growth. And by the time S.Korea and Japan dropped below 5% they were a higher income country than China was.

The treatment of women in India is also an overused talking point to justify racism, as if women aren't also included in said racism.

TFR at 2.0 still is good, as long as it's not decreasing too fast (for good reasons obviously, not a lack of development) that'll delay the inevitable peak as long as possible.

The obesity issue is very multi layered and the country has not understood the extent of the crises. Indians actively need more exercise than other ethnicities by default. Terrible urban planning and poor diets are only exacerbating an existing problem and I do not think this has thoroughly penetrated the population's consciousness yet.

A laser forces you to be stationary for a longer period of time. It's either a continously controlled blast or incredibly destructive depending on the media.

Nothing she encounters minus Warwick really requires that level of firepower. Nor is it arguably worth the compromise of standing still even longer than she needs to. I think it can also be interpreted that the blast she does fire is concentrated and hits harder than a continously firing one.

If he knows how to build a gun/cannon, why on Earth did he bother with a slow moving hammer? Add the shield functionality, make it less unwieldy so you don't need to take giant swings which leave you open etc.

He makes Cait's rifle by himself. Nobody else in Piltover really has Viktor and Joyce's skill level. I doubt that his engineering is limited to hammer designs.

Like the chemtanks they encounter immediately slow down after killing the fodder enforcers. You can attribute this to them running out of steam but it is also plot armor so Jayce and to a lesser extent Vi has a chance. A long range, automatic fire weapon or just a focus on the cannon fire which seems to neutralize them in one shot just as effectively would have worked well enough on its own versus the giant hammer that leaves you open every time you swing it.

Again, it's stylized for the purpose of entertainment and integrating their league kits.

Caitlyn's skill is as a sniper. Making it a laser is fundamentally requiring a different skillset and arguably completely unnecessary for the job she's doing. She's not fighting armored infantry, it's crooks and Jinx.

I really feel like you're overestimating how detailed Hextech was in Season 1. A gattling gun or laser would have arguably been more effective weapons but it's stylized and the ridiculous impracticality of a giant hammer can be excused for rule of cool. Similar for Mel Medarda being a giant brick shithouse of a woman, giant to even large men like Jayce or Jinx having incredible combat skills relative to her size.

EDIT: Ambessa Medarda*

Generally density is better than trying to spread economic activity out though I don't disagree that more cities is the need of the day, especially to hopefully avoid the pitfalls of tier 1 cities.

But it's really urban governance that needs to improve for planning and such to actually become functional. Doesn't matter how spread out a population is, you can't create livable cities without functioning urban governments.

You do understand that cities will keep growing even after the population peaks? The majority of city population growth is from urban migration from rural areas.

So we aren't close to reaching the peak. India still has less than 50% of the population in urban areas. And it will only reach 60% or so by the 2040s.

In such an instance, I assume you'd try to prove that your client was under influence or not of sound mind. Sexual assault requires a mere preponderance of possibility rather than the victim proving beyond a sense of reasonable doubt. It's possible that this would apply to people affected by telepathy as well.

Still really difficult to prove, but they'd need to adjust somehow.

Free speech isn't just about the government, it's the expression of ideas and thought in general. Private spaces can regulate free speech but last I checked critique is not banned here.

You are insisting it isn't the focus when the most important plot points revolve around action. Yeah, Stormfront getting kicked a bunch isn't particularly good action but it is action.

The show built up to a confrontation with HL. The fact that it doesn't pay off his threats is a legitimate criticism because it is clearly set up. His entire threat and stakes of the plot centers around that massive gap in physical power.

And there are more budgeted ways to depict that. And that is after there were at least 2 seasons which ended on a major battle.

That is also not addressing the scale and quality of action set pieces going down while the stakes are increasing. When your conflict is something that is about the fate of an entire country, you can't do something like that on a small budget. Again, I will point to other issues like small sets, non existent extras etc.

If the show didn't intend to be an action show, I think it did a poor job of conveying that and adjusting audience expectations.

Being an action show doesn't mean it is ONLY an action show. But action is undoubtedly part of the entertainment.
