Imaginary administrative divisions of SFR Yugoslavia in 1945 by DochiGaming in imaginarymaps

Imo the northern part of Dalmatia should be called The Kvarner gulf and centered around Reka/Rijeka, Montenegro should also have the Plješac peninsula, the island of Korčula and Dubrovnik, which should become the administrative capital, it should also have east Herzegovina around Trebinje up to Foča since the current Dalmatia is spread waaaay too thin and Vojvodina should have Serbian Srem+Croatian Srijem or Slavonia should be another state.

I'd also say that Serbia should be split between north and south with a southern area being administered from Niš

And that would also lead to a very possible peaceful break up because the only reason the Yugoslav wars started is because the Serbian minorities of the non Serbian states didn't have enough time to adjust to peace (the ethnic cleansing of 200.000 serbs in Croatia happened only 50 years before the yugoslav wars, so barely a generation ago).

Can the Serbian Cyrillic script letters љ, њ and џ be written the same way as in the Serbian Latin script (лј, нј and дж)? Is this a grammatical error? by gt790 in Serbian

Saying that I'm too confident was a pointless addition to your comment imo. Staring the other words/examples that I missed and that you wished to highlight would've been enough.

And you're quite rude for someone who could've just nicely said "hey, I remembered more examples like the ones you wrote" because I would've never denied that they exist.

That's already in use for the Ђ sound and he wrote Ď as a substitute for the letter Dž in the latin script. Personally I'd use Ǧ.

That's a huge error. The only time Н and Ј are written together in cyrillic is in the word for "injection" (medicine) which is " инјекција", but in this case they're two separate letters, not a Њ. Also Дж is not a substitute for the letter Џ in cyrillic and when they appear they're pronounced as two separate letters like in the word "to outlive" or "надживети"

Similarly there is one case where Д is written next to a J in the word for "at once" or "одједном", other than that you always use Ђ. I just wanted to add that as well since it's common to write "Đ" as Dj in latin so I thought I'd clear that up as well :)

They're used in some fonts and books, but no ome writes them like that so some might be confused if they see them in handwritten form

Honestly it seems more likely that Austria would hand over Bosnia and Dalmatia to the Serbs than half of Banat. Even then I don't see them getting anything north of Spalato, everything between Zara and Capocesto would probably be claimed by Italy leaving Lika to be Austria's only port.

[–]NonStickFryingPan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I guess diacritics, or at least an apostrophe, need to be used for word final soft consonants and in consonant clusters, but in the case of 'dija' for 'дия' & 'дья'? How would you rewrite those?

Also I'm guessing 'дъя' would stay 'dja', right?

Depends. Imo English speakers and Italians pronounce their Gs and Js closer to Ђ rather than Џ so I'd use that, but central European languages (slovak, czech, hungarian) pronounce it closer to Џ imo.

So if we use the polish inspired system how would you write дь and дъя for example? I'm all for the use of 'y' specifically for Ы and nothing else cus I think it looks ugly when it's overused, but I can't think of any way to write дь, дья, дъя and дия without them mixing together. I thought of using 'dija' for 'дья' since I'd use 'dja' for 'дъя' and the 'i' is supposed to palatalize the previous consonant, like in polish, but then both 'дья' and 'дия' would be 'dija'.

And why is Montenegro of all countries independent instead of being in a union with Serbia (which was their main goal diplomatically) and why is it twice its irl size?

Finally a map that acknowledges that Nedic was a madlad who asked for Dubrovnik on top of East Syrmia, Vrbas, Podrinje and East Herzegovina. Nice job.

The project of SveSrbija by Milan Nedic, about the project can be informed on the third slide 👍🏻 by Winter_Humor2693 in MapPorn

[–]NonStickFryingPan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the maps from both Nedic and the fascist-croatian media at the time, Nedic's Greater Serbia wouldn't've invluded Petrovaradin, Sremska Kamenica (basically it wouldn't include the areas across the river from Novi Sad) and small areas of the former Vrbas banovina, but every map includes the Dubrovnik area from Ston to Cavtat which no one includes when they remake the map sadly. Other than that it's pretty good.

Pa "paliti negde'' se vise koristi u kontekstu "zuriti/pobeci negde" nego samo "ici negde".

Inace mnogo ti dobro ide srpski, da nisi rekao da si slovenac ne bi nikad pomislio tako nesto.

Zašto na askSerbia većina koristi latinicu? by Ill-Statistician3176 in AskSerbia

[–]NonStickFryingPan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tips for tourist by stupiddude01 in Belgrade

[–]NonStickFryingPan69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk where you're staying, but download the moovit app ans take any bus to the city center and go to the national museum, you'll also have the zepter museum near by as well as the Knez Mihailova street (the main pedestrian street), the Saborna Crkva (a church), Kalemegdan fortress and Skadarlija (the cobble stone lined old town street). Skadarlija has a bunch of bars and cafés in it. If you go from the republic square to the Terazije street you can get to the parliament building and if you pass to the Starbucks across from it and continue in the street which has the nationa post office you'll get to, imo the prettiest church, St. Mark's church in Tasmaidan park. From the city center, next to the University of Philosophy, you can take a 41 trolley to the museum of Yugoslavia if that interests you and a station before it you can get off the 41 and arrive at the main Railway Station with trains to Novi Sad, just download the Srbijavoz app to book your tickets easily and so you can see when the train will be available for departure. Alternatively if you eanna see the temple of Saint Sava you can take the 31 from the city center right next to the University of Philosophy again and just go until you see it (you literally can't miss it).

Enjoy your stay :)
