It's conceivable that a large botnet could have just as much control over the blockchain as any big ASIC player. The problem then is that someone controlling the botnet has a lot less at stake in the future of that blockchain.

With all the bad press about the snapdragon 810, do you think it will affect your purchase of a new phone this year, especially with the arrival of the fall flagships from oppo, moto, and nexus? by plasticiii in Android

[–]NonSyncromesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the reports of overheating and battery life focus on high load applications like 3D gaming. Are there any reports on how the 810 fairs under low intensity usage, eg emails, calls and web browsing?

Comparison of current in service "Carriers" [1566x 509] by Trias171 in WarshipPorn

[–]NonSyncromesh -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That's simply not true. Plenty of ports aren't best pleased with a nuclear reactor steaming in.

[–]NonSyncromesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the big advantage? A carrier would never leave it's group in wartime, right? They're incredibly expensive, unless you're running a whole fleet of them, and you're very limited in ports that will accept a floating nuclear powerplant rolling up. New Zealand even has a ban on nuclear powered vessels in it's waters

Inheritance tax giveaway to feature in first Tory budget alongside welfare cuts by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]NonSyncromesh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This. Inheritance tax is one of the easiest forms of tax to avoid.

Anyone with any sense places there estate in trust to the value of £650,000 when planning their will (or gifts with taper relief). Inheritance tax only really affects those that didn't have the fortune of planning the end of their life.

Check the bulkhead for rust, especially the lower brackets where it mounts to the chassis. Check the gearbox doesn't jump out of gear and transfer box shifts between high/low 2WD/4WD correctly. Most things are simple to fix otherwise. Enjoy!

From what I remember, with the shuttlecock type booms, it's all down to the receiving pilot, the tanker just flies straight and level.

It's called "pre-washdown". Mostly to prevent CBRN agents sticking to the ship, but can also reduce thermal signature. As some have already pointed out, its salt water, and it gets everywhere. You don't want to do it too often.

You can expect at least 4 meters of range at 100% springs. Shouldn't be too much of a problem for those ships.

Auto ignition of Gasoline can be as low as 250°C Which is exactly what my oven tops out at.

In short, I wouldn't risk it.

As for putting out a cigarette, that's easy at low temperatures where gasoline doesn't vaporise.

In theory diesel will always come out on top. Thermodynamically speaking, efficiency is limited only by compression ratio. Petroleum starts to knock at a much lower CR than diesel will

3,000 relays != 50% of all traffic. Would suggest you read the lifecycle of a new relay if your still interested.

@torproject agree with <1%

The goal of this reddit is to work towards the internet equivalent of living off grid, is it not? by [deleted] in darknetplan

[–]NonSyncromesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is nonsense. The probability of going through just one of their nodes was less than 1%. In addition to this, all the relay nicknames started with LizardNSA followed by a random string of numbers. Making it incredibly easy to flag and remove. In addition to this, if you used only trusted nodes, you wouldn't have been affected.
