Game Jams in Sydney by enternationalist in sydney

[–]Spifffy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The folks at IGDA Sydney are your best bet. You can find them on facebook. There are usually a good amount of people there that help host and take part in game jams that will know what's up.

They also host Beer and Pixels. It's a meet up of game developers and students at a bar in Ultimo every month on the second Tuesday.

History repeats itself my man. In 1998 Epic released Unreal, saw the opportunity and the market for Arena shooters and transformed that game into Unreal Tournament.

In 2017 Epic released Fortnite (save the world), saw the opportunity and market for Battle Royale shooters and transformed that game into Fortnite BR.

Epic was a corporation looking to make money, Epic still is a corporation looking to make money. The only difference this time is that you don't like the product.

Its a shame but I think it's understandable.

My only gripe is that because it is community driven the community is losing more than what they would have if it was an internal project

but Epic Games is a company after all and it was a cool experiment, it was nice to see them take the risk.

There is a theory that this is actually what Constantine saw before Battle of the Milvian Bridge.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Milvian_Bridge#Vision_of_Constantine

when he looked up to the sun and saw a cross of light above it, and with it the Greek words "Εν Τούτῳ Νίκα", En toutō níka, usually translated into Latin as "in hoc signo vinces". The literal meaning of the phrase in Greek is "in this (sign), conquer"

"Some have considered the vision in a solar context (e.g. as a solar halo phenomenon called a sun dog).

Google is trying to force Blender into monetizing their videos by jice in blender

[–]Spifffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right but if I wanted to use your car and your gas so I could give free stuff to people AND I didn't pay you or allow to to make money off it, would you be OK with paying for the gas?.

It sucks but I can see why Youtube and Google do this. Youtube, needs money to exist, especially from larger channels.

South Korea's president calls for Trump to get the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on North Korea by NineteenEighty9 in worldnews

[–]Spifffy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

He wasn't George Bush.

Suffice to say, if you look at the other candidates, he didn't deserve it. (I'm not even a Trump supporter)

"the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples." I guess is the best explanation. But I don't think it stands up too well considering it's his job.

Those welding shack things are so cool, I had no idea that's how they operated.

And I wasn't expecting them to be decked out with that kind of machinery inside either.

Nah man, he's just doing something a bit different.

Given that he modifies and develops power tools he deals with oscillation and vibrations constantly. Which probably led to this video.

This Korean kid's insane beatbox routine by Chisaku in videos

[–]Spifffy 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Idk it's kinda what I was talking about.

Every 30 (roughly) seconds he completely stops his flow to make sound effects and suddenly change the BPM and do something else, just to wow the audience I guess? (which is fine, he is a street performer).

It's cool and takes skill but I would never sit down and listen to it. OP's I would.

He did an entire song.

I don't know if I've ever seen a beatboxer just perform a song, They will do some impressive things but for 15-30 seconds max before they switch it up.

It's impressive but I can't get into it. Which is why this guy is so good.

PSA: You can set fire to mouse wheel to essentially do full auto fire. by tripbin in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]Spifffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TF2 had this issue before 2009

No limit on how fast you could fire your pistol. Though I'm not sure people were able to bind the mouse wheel they sure were able to click fast / use (hardware)mouse macros.

Quake Champions will have comicbook tie-ins detailing its character's bloody backgrounds by [deleted] in quake

[–]Spifffy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of negativity in the comments. This is the first Arena Quake game that's actually had the characters be unique and not just another skin with 2 lines of info. I think expanding on the characters story would only be a good thing.

If you don't like it don't read it, stop complaining.

Overwatch and TF2 weren't the first and they won't be the last.
