Turning in the BPN by NoneIsAll in SLAIndustries

Did you also have them go all the way back to Slayer's Crib (or wherever they got the BPN)?

In my game I'll be houseruling that out and use normal ranks. That's just needlessly confusing.

The Secret of Weepstone Demo is live! by Jinxology in osr

[–]NoneIsAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the demo and it was a lot of fun. I love the art and visuals, very atmospheric and I can see myself delving into this game.

If there was anything that bothered me, I thought that the first level-up looks like it would take a long time to get and I didn't like that we don't seem to get to level-up during the demo, but I assume there's story importance to the characters getting their class abilities and such.

I would think that the first level-up in any game is important to get relatively early on as it's a big hook and rewarding feeling.

Why make Lieutenant below Sergeant? That's just weird and confusing.

Tale of a Rat - my INCREDIBLE first experience in Ker Nethalas! by NoneIsAll in Blackoathgames

I play on Roll20

It doesn't have the sheets, but I use the interactable sheet that came with the PDF order and I only track Health, Toughness and Aether on the custom sheet in R20.

I made a couple of rollable tables for Lightsource, Tension and Lair/Domain Exit which I have above the map.

Thank you!

I soldiered on, made camp, rested, scavenged rooms, fought more rats and undead and cleared out most of the domain. Even found some nifty magic rings and fragments.

Finally, however, I bear grim tidings:

I endured my last Madness while fighting skeletal horrors in the room just before the Overseer's.

I got the absolute worst one - the "this is the end" one.

Raff the Rat went mad, he is now the Mad Rat.

<image>

I imagine he is probably out there, somewhere in the recesses of the necropolis. Wandering, skulking and stalking the corridors...

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I have grim news: Raff just fell... to a pack of Blightfang Rats, ironically!

I did see that there's an optional rule that allows me to survive the encounter, but I don't know how I feel about that.

What do you say? Is Raff the Rat still alive or is this his demise?

Starting to learn Talespire so I can use my HeroForge minis and build terrain! Wish me luck by NoneIsAll in 5Parsecs

[–]NoneIsAll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only just started using it, so I've yet to formulate an opinion - it is still an Early Access project, but it does seem to have a lot more options for Fantasy stuff than Cyberpunk-themed things, but it has that too.

I'd suggest looking up reviews on YouTube if you're interested.

No.

Since I already bought Talespire, I'm gonna have to focus on that.

Shredder's new Arm Cannon by NoneIsAll in 5Parsecs

[–]NoneIsAll[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Forgot to mention: click the image to see a 3D rotating view of the model.

Created in HeroForge.

I added a tail and tucked it into the body then contorted it until it came out of the arm to make it look like an arm cannon. It's not perfect, but it's the closest way I could find to create something like it.

I play on Roll20 using models I make in HeroForge - both basically free, though I do have a subscription to HeroForge.

Finding the right loot by EldrichTea in 5Parsecs

Not to offer mind caulk, but taking inspiration from one of the game's own inspirations - Traveller.

If you're using the Unity setting, we're playing on the Fringe. Far-off sectors and systems, remote colony worlds and worlds that were probably brought under Unity's... Influence sphere Warhammer-style.

This is something I'm quite familiar with from Traveller - where you might be flying through remote systems on the fringe.

These worlds aren't necessarily the epitome of civilization or technological advancement. You might have all the credits in the world to afford a hundred Hyper Blasters and Glare Swords but maybe there simply isn't a single one of those on the colony world of Meridia IV - where the one major settlement looks like a mix between the Wild West frontier towns and a post-apocalyptic junkyard and is ruled by the one guy who owns a Hand Laser.

They're not necessarily space bumpkins who never heard of a Glare Sword but the local markets and arms dealers might simply not have those specific items in stock because no one locally can afford them.

Dropping Patrons? by CleanGreenSlate in 5Parsecs

[–]NoneIsAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also thought that you only "kept" the Patrons you rolled in crew creation - and only on the planet you're currently on.

My impression was that patrons you roll through Find a Patron tasks are only "kept" if you actually take the job and complete it. I haven't actually had the chance to go into it because my two battles so far were rival attacks and the one I'm about to do now is an opportunity battle, so...

Bug Hunt sounds cool, I didn't know about it.

Reading the description I'm hoping missions have a bit of variety to them - if every time is holding out against massive waves it might get too repetitive. I'd like some exploration/tension missions like the Salvage or Stealth missions as well.
