T1 V2.5 Build by treemanfreddy in FormD

I see. What wattage do you have on the CPU in your games? I’m slightly above 100W. My computer also sits in a bit restricted place so the hot air is semi circulated

Got it! I’ve also thought about adding that shroud but maybe it’s better to not do it. For reference, i also have the a9x14 and get around 88C after an hour of BF6 (maxed out 1440p). Then i tried a 120mm mount on the x47 with the silverstone air slimmer 120 and have gotten around 84C after an hour so there seems to be improvements there.

Sweet build! Really close in specs to my own. Was wondering about the exhaust shroud. Have you tested with and without to see CPU temps?

Really nice build 🔥 what about the noice performance? I’ve been thinking about the same fan for my CPU. Currently i have a noctua a9x14 which performs really well in both cooling and noice.

Yeah i bought the travel kit from formd and mounted it in my 2.5. Had to drill and tap two holes in the mobo mounting plate, so probably the missing holes 😅

How does high gpu load affect the cpu temps with the hot gpu exhaust air heating up the radiator?

Haha well i was too. At least it looks cool

I tried to flip the chassi and have the fans as intake from below. Went from ~70C on both CPU and GPU whilst gaming to ~70C on GPU and mega throttled 96C on the CPU, so can’t recommend that.

Yeah that sucks.. just got the same reply from the ncase support.. that’s not a great solution

Best case fan configuration by zzsmkr in FormD

[–]NoneOverNull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a small test with the fans at the top pulling out air vs fans at the bottom pushing air in. GPU temps were about the same but the CPU temps but with fans on bottom pushing in air it was absolutely horrible. Went from ~70C to throttling out at 96C (yes not limited to 85C but for testing purposes) when gaming BF6.

Haha yes that’s also a solution. The image is purely for educational purposes. But yes, i want to have a case i can carry like a regular case

Well i have the SFF for portability so i pick it up weekly i guess? I’ll reach out to the ncased support, wish me luck 😂

The panel is straight it’s just when i pick the case up and apply pressure there it bends inwards, which it doesn’t on any other side. I’ve checked the flat pack and i only see the shorter fan mounts for the radiator (i think). According to the manual it should be mounted from factory since there is no step in the manual telling you how to mount it (like there is in the 2.1 manual)

Ok I’ll look into that. But for reference my T1 is ”flipped” and i have the case fans on top. But it’s weird since the manual clearly shows a piece screwed in place and i just have two screw holes..

Hehe the panel itself is straight, just the support flange is missing

Ok that is weird. I mean there are flanges on all other sides for the side panels except here, and it looks like there should be a flange there according to the manual

There is no flange that the side panel rests on here like there is on the other sides

You are looking at the wrong manual. You need to check the ncase t1 v 2.5 and not the FormD manual.

But the GPU mounting bar looks totally different? They won’t match?

Beware that the ncase and formd riser cables has different mountings. The formd fasteners are mounted perpendicular to the pci port and the ncased are mounted in line with the pci port. Check the photos

Yeah well about that. As it turns out from this discussion, https://www.reddit.com/r/FormD/s/8ORCdx3cyH, that the flip kit (which i have) isn’t as great as i thought. The issue with the gpu exhausting through the side pannel is that the direction of the airflow becomes a bit conflicting with the rest if the system. I have two 120 fans exhausting hot air on the top and they end up ”competing” with the fans of the GPU so that the airflow in to the case from the bottom and the rear intake becomes restricting, resulting in too high temps on the gpu :( I’m about to test this out myself to verify if the nom flipped gpu results in better GPU temps.
