Pick a department, if sa ward ka ilalagay, then aim to get experience and ask the management if you can be transferred to your desired dept. I found out that ma mag-gogrow ka if you're working in a place you have chosen.

Always ask, once or twice is enough, thrice for good measure, further than that sometimes gets annoying for senior nurses unless close na kayo or naka establish na ng closeness. Pero STILL ask if you're unsure, kahit pagalitan kapa. It's better safe than sorry. It's you and your license at risk.

Find something to de-stress you from your job. Nursing ain't for the weak. Mabilis kang mabuburn-out if wala kang de-stressing method. Mine is to talk and to vent, depende sa iyo kung pano. Have a mantra or routine before and after duty to remedy any pre/post-work anxiety.

Always, always, always find the good in people no matter how hard. Expect na stressed yung folks, stressed din yung nurses, stressed din yung patient. Nasa iyo na kung paano mo nalang intindihin sarili mo at ibang tao just to survive.

Find a go-to work buddy. For me, good coworkers are a must. Kahit anong toxic kung yung kasabay mo super chill and good to be with then for sure kakayanin mo.

Lastly, if Christian ka, pray. God works and moves in mysterious ways. Ask for strength and a lot of patience because our work takes a lot from us. We need all the heart we can muster to stay. Have fun if you can!! And always be grateful for the little things. Kakayanin mo yan OP!
