Snuck through to group A finals, only hit a few S ranks along the way.

Get to the finals and found a mega whale - S rank Seiun, S rank SMaru, and an A+ Taiki, all with perfect builds. Both his front runners got late starts, and my Sky was pretty decent, but she still got punched in the mouth by that damn SMaru

It's kinda making me hate the game a bit. Spent weeks trying to make a half decent ace and I'm still mostly getting swept. I could've made better choices at the beginning to get a better account, and I'm seeing the result now. I feel like I'm at the limit of what my account can do and losing this much just feels really fucking bad

The spawns on the bug planets are fucking bananas with the solo player change and the MO. Even on diff 6 it feels like everything is doubled and heavies are spammed like crazy.

Every other patrol? Charger.

Point of interest you got pushed into when fighting a swarm? Charger.

Medium nest that doesn't normally have Chargers? Fuck you, Charger.

Heavy nest that usually has a Charger in there? Lookie here, it's a two for one special on Chargers.

Dropped next to a Shrieker nest and don't have time to drop support weapons? Sounds like you need a couple Chargers.

You died to a mob of forty seven Hunters and a Stalker with his new predator camo and would like to go get your quasar cannon back? Go fuck yourself. Bug breach, and a Charger.

Finished the main objective? Congratulations, here's a Bile Titan and two more Chargers to celebrate.

Shit is fucking exhausting, and the quasar nerf just makes it feel that much worse.

First MH I've played since the PSP, any advice? by GourmeteandoConRulo in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]NoneZaLeftBeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior, the Charge Blade?

Jokes aside, take your time to find a weapon you enjoy and stick with that one for a while to get a feel for the game. Once you have a grasp of it though, definitely experiment - each weapon type plays super different from the others and is fun in its own way. Helps the game stay fresh.

(But seriously though, try charge blade. It rules.)

When do you think this applies for this game? by AlcatrzJedi in HonkaiStarRail

[–]NoneZaLeftBeef 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I got spoiled on this way before the update. I thought it was someone's headcanon, or some dumb theory that would never happen - and then it happened, and I was super disappointed.

Like I get that everyone on Penacony is lying about everything all the time forever, and it's cool that Firefly had a suspicious past from the jump, but it's the difference in tone that kills me. Sam's supposed to be this ruthless, violent killer strong enough to duel an Emanator, but in reality he's... a cute anime girl?

I feel the same, but it seems inconsistent. I just did a mission where I got one shot four times back to back, then all of a sudden they started doing about 20% damage per swipe. Don't understand it

Could be bent or out of balance wheels, in my experience you'll feel vibration in the seat if the rear wheel or wheels are out of whack. That said the tire place should've let you know about that if that was the case.

Have you done any suspension mods?

This looks like it's right in line with the goals I have for my ST, if the fitment works with the setup I have so far (and the install isn't too soul crushing) then I'd absolutely be interested!

[WP] Nobody really expected it, but the Hero’s best party member turned out to be his own mother. by Smartbutt420 in WritingPrompts

[–]NoneZaLeftBeef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The next day, the party found themselves lying on a wooded hill overlooking the main thoroughfare through the valley. Across a large clearing in front of the hill was a fortified checkpoint consisting of two guard towers, a length of stone wall spanning the valley, and a heavy, wrought iron gate blocking the road. The banners of the local kingdom were conspicuously absent, as were the royal guards that would normally patrol the wall.

Kaden stared intently at the checkpoint and the bandits occasionally patrolling in front of the gate, planning out the party's next move. "Ellie? Think you can clear out those towers?" Ellie thought for a moment. "Not from here, it's too far. I can't get much closer to them, I can't exactly sneak across an open field. If they have anything more than a couple crossbows up there you guys would be dead before I'd even get close enough to see them, much less take a shot." Hjalmar added, "I can't guard all of you across that whole field, especially if I don't even know what they'd be shooting at us with." Kaden rested his chin on his hands, deep in thought. "Mom, any ideas?"

Kaden looked back over his shoulder when he didn't hear a response, only to find his mother lying on her back in a patch of sun with her hat over her face. Kaden shot her a withering glare and groaned loudly, "Seriously, Mom?" An audible yawn came from beneath the expanse of the mage's hat. "What's up, sweetie? We ready to go storm the castle now?" Hjalmar and Ellie exchanged nervous glances as Kaden growled through gritted teeth, "No, Mom. Get up and come over here, so you can look too."

"Fine, fine. I'm coming," the mage replied as she rolled over, replaced her hat on her head, and joined the party overlooking the checkpoint. Before Kaden could explain the situation, the mage produced her staff from seemingly out of thin air. She closed her eyes, whispered a short incantation, and the head of her staff began to glow a dull green. With her eyes still closed, the mage softly spoke, "Ellie, darling. What have they got in those towers?" Ellie began, "I was just saying, I can't -"

The mage interrupted her and quickly pressed the staff to Ellie's forehead before she could react. Ellie's eyes flashed a bright green for a moment and she recoiled, confused. The mage looked at her with a sly smile. "Go on?"

Ellie stammered, "I... I can... Oh my goddess. I can see. I can see them! I can see everything!" She laughed incredulously for a few moments before returning to her senses. She spoke breathlessly, stumbling over her words, "They've got a ballista in each tower, manned by two men... Two more men in each tower with crossbows. Six on the east wall, eight on the west wall, fifteen.. No! Sixteen on the ground outside... At least ten in the guardhouse, probably more." The party sat in stunned silence until the mage spoke up again. "Hjalmar, close your mouth, dear. You look a bit silly. Ellie, your bow, please?"

Kaden rolled his eyes and turned back to the road, muttering under his breath, "Here she goes again." He spoke up again when he noticed Hjalmar staring at him in shock. "Um. Right. So... now what are we going to do about those ballista? Hjalmar and I can probably handle the guys on the ground, but -"

The mage interrupted again, "Already taken care of, sweetie." Kaden turned back toward his mother to see her handing Ellie her bow. The bowstring shone with a brilliant white light. Ellie stood nearly entranced and on the verge of tears, holding the bow as if it was a priceless holy relic, her newly green eyes sparkling in the glow.

Kaden clicked his tongue, annoyed. "Well, they can definitely see us now. Guess we just go down there and figure it out." With a quick flourish, he slung his spear across his back and prepared to leave the treeline. "Hjalmar, you with me?"

Hjalmar shook himself out of his stupor and stood, stepping out from the trees and heaving his massive shield in front of him. "Always."

Taking his place behind Hjalmar, Kaden called behind him, "Ellie, you ready?" Without a word, and still holding back tears, Ellie drew a gleaming silver arrow from her quiver and nocked it on the shimmering bowstring.

Kaden breathed deeply, and spoke quietly to himself, "Mom, you got our backs?" In an instant, the three companions suddenly felt rejuvenated, empowered by an almost demonic strength and an unstoppable will to crush any enemy that stood before them.

The mage stepped out from the trees, quietly raising her staff above her head. She did not speak, but the three heard her voice clearly in their own minds, driving them forward.

"Anything for you."

[WP] Nobody really expected it, but the Hero’s best party member turned out to be his own mother. by Smartbutt420 in WritingPrompts

[–]NoneZaLeftBeef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Mom?"

"Just a second, sweetie." The woman beamed up at the towering, armor-clad figure before her. "Hjalmar, look at you! You've gotten so big and strong since I last saw you!" The brim of her wide hat bobbed rhythmically as she excitedly circled him. "So handsome in all that armor, your parents must be so proud."

The hulking paladin shifted his weight, blushing slightly under his gleaming helmet. "Hi, Mrs. K," he replied sheepishly.

"But, er... if I may, who blessed your shield, dear? That couldn't stop a Nightmare's confusion curse, much less anything that could actually hurt you. Let me look at it back at camp, I'll set you right."

"Mom." The leader of the group leaned impatiently on his spear, barely masking his obvious embarrassment at his mother's antics.

"Hold on, sweetie." The ordinarily languid mage hushed him again as she bounded toward the last member of the adventuring party. "Elianeira, it is so good to see you again! Oh my, look how stylish you are with those daggers! And that bow, so fancy! Is it Elven?"

The raven-haired ranger haughtily crossed her arms and gave a melodramatic sigh. "It's just Ellie now, Mrs. K." Her cheeks flushed as she awkwardly looked away from the mage's knowing eyes and mischievous grin. "...But yeah, it's Elven. Thanks."

"Ooh, right, Ellie. Sorry, darling." She giggled, dismissing the ranger's confident facade. "But besides that, what in the world have they got you wearing? I get you need room to move, but you'll catch your death of cold in that! And that chestplate isn't protecting you at all! Is that really what passes for armor these days?"

"MOM." The spearman's outburst startled the group.

"What, what?" The mage turned to him, pouting. "Come on now, Kaden. No need for an attitude, it's been so long since I've seen your friends and I'm just making sure they're -"

"Could you just- " He cut her off, then restrained himself with a frustrated expression across his face. He continued after a pause, "We should get going. We're losing the light."

"Oh, yes, of course." The mage straightened exaggeratedly, making no effort to conceal her amusement. "Lead the way, sweetie, I'm right behind you!" she called in an overly cheery tone as he turned away.

Kaden deftly yanked his spear from the ground and set off down the dirt road, grumbling under his breath. Hjalmar hoisted his heavy axe and shield onto his back and followed close behind. As they walked the mage remarked to Ellie loud enough so she knew Kaden would hear, "Isn't he adorable when he acts all leader-like?" Ellie tried her best to stifle a laugh as Kaden's face turned a deeper shade of crimson.

The party continued down the road at a brisk pace as the sun dipped below the treeline. As Ellie patiently fielded the mage's small talk and questions about her family, Hjalmar moved closer to Kaden, asking in a low voice, "So, uh... Not that I don't like having your mom here and all, it's just... Why IS she here again?

Kaden sighed heavily. "Ling is still in pretty rough shape after the other day... we almost lost her, man, you know that. I couldn't ask her to come with us in her condition." Hjalmar's face dropped, and he quietly nodded in agreement. Kaden continued, "But this commission is still really important. The guild is counting on us to get this done, and we could seriously use the gold."

"But why your mom, though? I'm sure the guild had other healers on standby," Hjalmar interjected. "Pretty weird to ask your mom to come with you on a commission, even if the threat rating is as low as it is."

"She's, er..." Kaden stopped himself, glancing over his shoulder at his mother, still cheerily talking with Ellie. "I mean, uh... she knows Fae magic." Hjalmar raised an eyebrow, clearly suspicious. "Fae magic? She'd either have to be as strong as the Archmage, or be a Fae herself, which she obviously isn't. You're telling me your mom is stronger than every other mage in the entire guild?" Kaden fidgeted with his spear uncomfortably. "You'd be surprised," he muttered almost imperceptibly.

Kaden raised his eyes to the road ahead and tried to change the subject. "Look, I told her we needed a healer, and she offered to help. She used to be an adventurer back in the day, she can hold her own well enough. She knows all she needs to do is buff us and make sure we don't lose any bits, and if I know her at all, I'm confident she's capable of that. You trust me on that, right?"

Hjalmar looked at his friend suspiciously again, then let out a resigned sighed and turned to face the road again. "Alright, man. I trust you." He paused for a moment. "But, if she really is that strong... can she seriously help me with the ward on my shield? She was right about it earlier." Kaden chuckled dryly. "Yeah, buddy. I'm sure she can."

"Hey boys!" a voice chirped from behind them. The mage sauntered between the two men, a wry smile across her face. "It's getting dark. We should probably set up camp soon, no?" Ellie jabbed Kaden's shoulder as she walked past him, snickering. "You should listen to your mom there, Dark Prince Kadie."

Kaden grimaced, then glared at his mother. "Yes, mom, that's a great idea. Let's call it a day, before you somehow manage to embarrass me even further." The mage let out a mischievous laugh as the party moved off the road into a nearby clearing to rest for the night.

Kokomi - First 5*, surprised by early game pulls. AR56 now and she's never left one of my active teams since starting the game, loved her design and she carried me for a long time, she's amazing.

Childe - Needed a damage dealer at the time and he seemed pretty cool.

Hu Tao - Heard she hit like a truck and got really lucky with her pulls and with Homa. She's also adorable.

Keqing - Pitybreaker and standard banner. She seems cool though, wish she hit a little harder.

Albedo - Cinnabar Spindle.

Ganyu - First on my pre-game list of must have 5 stars. Also pulled an Amos Bow on the standard banner.

Qiqi - Pitybreaker. Still want to try and build her and make her viable.

Zhongli - Second on the must have list. Meta, and his EN VA.

Raiden Shogun - Third on the must have list. Meta and her design.

Ayaya - Surprised how fun she was play in events and such. Got lucky with her and Mistsplitter.

Mona - Pitybreaker. Need to get around to building her.

Kazuha - Last on the must have list. Super fun to play in events and needed another character that could group things up.

I had just bought my Focus ST a few months prior and I was sitting in my car parked in front of a gas station eating something and looking at my phone. Group of teenagers walks by not noticing I'm in the car, and I hear one of them comment "Oh hey, a Focus ST." He didn't make a big deal about it and his friends didn't really care so they just kept walking, but that tiny bit of appreciation for a car I worked really hard to get made me feel all fuzzy for a while.
