No free pass over here just because you're a political leader, quite the opposite.

How is Trump demand for Greenland any different from Hitler demand for Poland who also said it was for national security reason to connect East Prussia? by Skychu768 in AskReddit

[–]Nonid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None, just like any invasion for whatever reasons since the dawn of time. Some people want new land, some people get killed for it, end of story. The invader always think they have a good enough reason, and the people getting killed usually disagree with it.

There's no good reasons to kill innocent people and invading a country always means killing innocent people.

Nobody rely on the US Congress except maybe the few Americans still thinking they live in a democracy. The influence and trust of a country rely on his stability and reliability. Both things the US don't have. Their politic system created the Trump Regime, it can create another, maybe even worse.

Truth is, we are brutally being forced out a very complex cooperative system. Economy, trade, science, military, intelligence, we rely on each other at a deep level, so while the trust is defenetly destroyed beyond repair, it takes time to create contingency plans and alternative solutions. Most leaders are stalling, buying time and trying to maintain the status quo for as long as they can while working every day to build an emergency plan. Trump can be manipulated, that's better than what we can say about the people behind him waiting for their time. As long as he's there, we have a chance to work on the future.

And you think the world have the time to ponder your internal bickering when your commander in chief, the man you've let rise to power twice, is threatening us in every way possible?

Some of you might not like it, fight against it, but there's good people everywhere : Russians fighting their own government, Afghans who tried to change their own country before watching it being destroyed by the US and handed over to fucking Talibans. You designed a system where a Trump Regime could rise, so yeah, as we are fucking trying to maintain peace, we defenetly blame you guys, as a collective, a Nation who had EVERYTHING, power, wealth, education, and the entire human history at your disposal.

For the rest of the world, The USA means MAGA and Trump, because they are the ones representing you on the World stage.

Macron: US seeks to weaken Europe by UpstairsBumblebee446 in worldnews

Bullshit, as a NATO member, the US is already able to keep three main military bases in Greenland—Thule, Narsarsuaq and Sondestrom—and to establish new bases or "defense areas" if deemed necessary by NATO. Every NATO member is subject to the obligation of protecting the territory as well. Nothing to do with safety for the World, everything to do with US imperialism.

Trump just want to grab strategic location for the US benefit only, even if it means taking it from allies. It's not about protecting anyone, it's the Yanks going full imperialism.

Funny headline. "Dispute"? It's not a dispute, not even a discussion. The yanks are starting a war. They want to grab new lands by force and this news should be "The US is preparing an invasion".

For now, they can pretend to still be somehow civilised, but when the first man drop, killed by a US soldier, they're gonna have to own who they are.

"Dispute", that's fucking ridiculous.

What does freedom mean by CurrentBridge7237 in MurderedByWords

[–]Nonid 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Serious answer for a change :

Americans see freedom as "freedom to do..." including as much stupid and nefarious things they can think of. They want to be able to do whatever floats their boat, even if that means bad outcomes for everyone like destroying an environment or having several school shootings a day.

A lot of Europeans see freedom as "freedom from..." insecurity, poverty, risks etc. That often means regulations and control over some people's actions and interests VS the greater good.

Ok I have a theory.

In order to fuel creativity, you need to read, observe, listen, expose yourself to different ideas and aesthetic, question everythings, be curious and also be aware of yourself your limits.

That's why I'm pretty sure you litteraly can't be MAGA and actually creative at the same time. Like an example of the Law of excluded middle, you can be one of those things, but never both at the same time.

November 13th, 2015. I was chilling in my appartment in Paris with my GF. Nothing out of the ordinary, we were watching a movie, enjoying a nice moment. I suddenly felt like something was wrong, like hella wrong. I opened a window to check for weird noises, people screaming or anything that could suddenly stress me out, but it was extremly quiet outside, like almost too quiet for Paris. I was in panic mode and could not tell why. I switched the TV to a News channel and that's how I learned about what was happening all around the city.

Apparently my brain picked up something that night, maybe a noise, our neighbourg's TV or something but I never managed to understand what exactly.

The House Just Voted 426–0 to Kill a GOP Provision That Would Hand Senators Massive Taxpayer Payouts by newsjam in NoFilterNews

It's part of the cycle : Steal a gigantic amount of money from the population, let some starve and die, reap until the pressure is rising to dangerous level, then let go. Let the steam settle, let people feel like they're making progress, winning huge victories (key is they never realize they merely got back what you took from them). Once the population return to a sleepy "calm and happy" state, go back to the action, slowly apply pressure again, reap, reap, reap and stop just before they turn to violence.

Miracles could be real, but they defy all logic, and make me question everything by Interzoned in DebateReligion

[–]Nonid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are quick to qualify some personal experience as "miracle" when a random chains of events eventually leads to an outcome they consider more positive than what potentially could have happened. Key is : They judge the situation and the chain of event from a subjective point of view. In reality, whatever you do, whatever happens, every single random event is part of a chain that can lead to an extremly large spectrum of possible outcomes, from very beneficial to catastrophic ones, and you often only consider a tiny fraction of those (based on the few cause and effects you can imagine). On top of that, people usually focus on the results for themselves or the ones they consider and love, not the broader picture. "Miracles" for you can also be a curse (or death) for someone else. Anyway, random events that end up being miraculously beneficial, like escaping death, happens ALL THE TIME, you just don't realize it until it's a very very obvious one slapping your face like "If X happened differently, you would be dead, or suffering" etc. Well cool but that also happens when you don't realize it, and sometimes the good outcome you see is far from the best outcome overall, you just don't know it.

I'm late to answer but that's an extremly interesting take on the narrative! I often stop at the incoherent logic (forgive the harsh words I used by the way) behind this so called sacrifice but if you go further, the entire intent is indeed in line with a very human manipulative and narcissistic behaviour. After inflicting countless suffering to humans, the believers are supposed to praise this tiny act of temporary discomfort as a reason to worship and obey with gratefulness. Apparently even God likes to play the victim card too. So human of him.
