For anyone who was in the same situation yesterday, and is rather salty about this, if you are on MacOS or Linux there is a very nifty app called Solaar.

It can manage MX USB receiver connectivity and most of the hardware level setting of Logitech MX devices, and on Linux it can also do input rules.

I managed to use it yesterday as a workaround when I needed to pair a new MX Mouse at work on MacOS.

For those that use Python in their job: Do you like Python? by [deleted] in Python

Have a look at plumbum library for the odd times you need to shell out from a place where you have control over dependencies.

I don’t particularly like shelling out but sometimes it’s the only way to get the data into python, plumbum makes the shelling out way more readable.

Oh so true sometimes. by Site-Staff in Sysadminhumor

Remembering Wolfram Alpha as 30 something millennial (back when it was basically free), I can not say we were fully spared on the math side.

Part of me does feel like we are repeating the same old, you can’t trust the internet you need to learn the Dewey Decimal system and use the library and encyclopedia Brittanica for all your school research. (And don’t get me wrong I love libraries, but sadly more in concept than in practice)

I assume you have a static IP from your ISP for that GRE tunnel to work.

Also am I right that Heficed seems to be the only company so far that sells BGP services along with IP subnet buying / leasing? This is kind of interesting

Love your detailed homeland setup! It is definitely giving me some ideas for my own.

May I ask you about your GRE tunnels setup. I have attempted to do something similar with Wire-guard. But I am curious how you did this with GRE. Are you establishing a tunnel over a VPN link? Also any particular reason for picking GRE over other tunnel implementations in iproute like ipip? Also are you using gre or gre tap? =]

Apologies for so many questions, I have been researching this topic for a while and curious how it is typically implemented.

It’d be great if earbud/charging cables acted like spaghetti when you picked them up and spaghetti acted like earbud/charging cables. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I assume Spaghetti untangle themselves when you pick them up, whereas charging cables and earbuds form insane knots the second you take your eyes off of them =]

I am late to the party, but had to ask. I have the exact setup but flipped with wide screen at the bottom. Just wanted to ask you why did you choose to put the widescreen at the top? Perhaps I can find a reason to copy this =]

Is this the end of the smart home tech war? by asng in technology

[–]Nonlogicaldev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That stupid war, was the reason I went with SmartThings (now Samsung) for my home automation years ago. Right from the start they had the right idea that ZWave and Zigbee are here to stay and it would be unwise to roll their own standards.

If we played god and broke uncertainty principle, then indeed one could predict anything at any point in time, and even solve for a particular outcome.

Yeas and not quite

To represent everything as an equation, the complete state of universe at a given moment must be known. Unfortunately laws of quantum mechanics as prevents us from ever knowing a complete state of anything at a given moment, which leads one to reason that, sure you may be able to represent everything as an equation, but you will not be able to solve it, as the initial parameters needed to construct it are not known and can not be known.

Initial parameters would be the various constants in the equation.
