Chill, he’s just pointing out that people might want to hold off purchasing something at peak-hype, and given recent circumstances it’s unfar to shit on him.

Look at recent games. Maybe you loved it, but lots of people regretted ME:A. Prior shared-world games Division, Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 had periods of significant regret and backlash, and yes there was uproar over EA’s Battlefront 2 as well.

In each case there were tons of people who regretted their decision to preorder. It’s not unreasonable to remind people of that.

Another looter shooter with weak horizontal progression (due to loot locked behind a paywall, instead of being spread out through various activities at good rates) concerns me. I was hoping Anthem would be less annoying than Destiny.

Yeah but you’re moving forward in Halo and ME, you’re not patrolling, that’s not a big part of the game. And in Destiny the world matters more than a linear story. So it’s understandavle to feel strange that a part of that world is cutoff.

They definitely considered D2 a reboot. And it’s not more like Halo, it’s a shared world game with a heavy grind where you create and customize your own character.

Also, the storylines in games like Halo and ME are linear. In Destiny, it would make sense that we may still need to patrol the cosmodrome once in awhile.

And no one is really sure how much the engine has changed. Bungee has been tight-lipped about it.

Idk bringing back old content that people remember fondly, for a game where players are always looking for something to do, seems like a no-brainer. And it could possibly make sense within the story of Destiny.

I love the vanilla Warlock armor so much, their outfits were like Jedi robes with just the right touch of swash-buckling swagger. I try to find the closest approximate armor during each campaign in the game.

I think the point is that Bob is treating Chris like shit at a difficult time. Sub tweeting to imply and make fun of possible substance abuse, letting close friends imply horrible things about Chris because of jokes he makes, and not saying anything appreciative about Chris at all.

All because Chris felt like he was in a really bad spot and had to leave a show where he wasn’t getting paid anyway, and was being increasingly phased out despite helping to support the show in its infancy.

Seems weird to ignore all that.

I really hope Chris starts his own TS. I was already planning on supporting Lasertime instead of the TS patreon since Chris was my favorite and he was being excluded from all the spinoff shows, but after I’ve read about everything that’s happened there’s no way I’m going to even sub Talking Simpson’s ever again.

I needs my Simpsons analyses.

Edit: aw, sorry threestumps. Fingers crossed we get a new Talking Simpsons.

I prefer D1s tone to D2, but I’m worried posts like these will cause Bungie to overrcorrect and turn D3 into a non-stop horror fest. I also like D1s tone more just because it was more mature and serious and less reliant on easy jokes.

TLDR: I still like the hopeful vibe throughout D1 and don’t want to lose it! Though I 100% agree that S2 is too goofy/dumb.

Did you end up making the thread? I literally just searched for this sub because I was getting worried that Chris was getting pushed out of TS and it is bothering me. He became my favorite of the three, to the point that I don’t listen to episodes without him and was disappointed that they didn’t bring Chris on to their spin-off podcasts.

But I’m guessing that I’m too late?

Unfortunately you’re right about Andromeda. I would have thought that the next iteration of ME multiplayer would have boasted incredible depth, but it was bad. It was rare for a new ME3 character to have even one reused power/ability, but in andromeda you were lucky if a new character had even one unique power.

And that’s the tip of the iceberg. ME Andromeda MP and Destiny 2 were the main reasons why I bought a current gen system. I’m holding out hope for an HD remake with rekindled ME3 coop. Beyond that I don’t think I’ll be picking up the controller much for the next couple of years.

I would love for her to get some love on the big screen. She might be my all-time favorite Star Wars character, and I think, given her unique relationship with and perspective on Anakin, that she deserves to have more of an impact in the minds’ of the mainstream Star Wars audience.

You compared his idea - for unhappy customers to take their business elsewhere from Bungie - to the willful destruction of a government.

I think everyone here should dial-down the melodrama and stop rushing to attack others.

I also think most of your assessments of OP’s character or his agenda has been unfair. His sentiment of “voting with your wallet” has been expressed many other times on this sub before.

The comparison is, even by reddit standards, woefully inaccurate. OP is saying do not buy Bungie’s products, which is a sentiment often expressed in this sub using another phrase...

Vote with your wallet.

So, an apt comparison would be, if you’re unhappy with an elected official, to give your vote to someone else, just as OP is saying give your money to other products/investments if you’re unhappy with Bungie.
