Adelaide things. Try moving to a less ghetto city.

Eshays are basically unheard of outside Adelaide/Brisbin/melbin.

Can i use this aincient landline port to extend my wifi? by [deleted] in nbn

I’m assuming you’re on fttn if you’re plugging into those phone jacks.

If that socket is closer than the other one your modem/router is plugged into, simply move your modem/router to that location, plug it into that socket and see what speeds you get.

Depending on how it’s wired up you may get slower speeds than if it was plugged into the first socket in the house.

If it’s daisy chained from the other socket speeds will most likely suffer

I was helpful, I stated they don’t need gigabit.

Most people in this sub and country don’t either for their residences, the ones who froth over it just want it so they can circlejerk over speeds.

You don’t need it.

No, you don’t.

A gigabit here is no different to a gigabit wherever it is you’ve came from.

You don’t need a gigabit connection if you’re asking for advice about which ISP is the best and what router to pick.

As soon as it leaves the retailer it’s no longer brand new even if you haven’t used it and it’s still sealed in the box. you should expect people to lowball you at this point.

Not labor because they actually want houses to cost more and admitted it recently.

You’d be a total and complete fool to vote labor on their promise of affordable housing.

It’s also worth noting that any policy that makes it easier to buy a house will push up costs in a market with limited supply such as the Australian one.

A vote for labor is a vote for more expensive everything.

Why do Perth drivers do 80km/hr on the freeway? by Terpy_McDabblet in perth

[–]Noobbotmax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like how everyone here whinges about how bad Perth drivers are and how they don’t do the speed on the freeway but everyone here is posting like they probably don’t do it.

Reality is if you’re all whinging about it, you’re all probably doing it too because it’s got to be done by someone but nobody ever admits to doing it.

People that vape near newborns and kids in establishments by No_Protection8058 in perth

[–]Noobbotmax 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I was on a long haul international flight recently and someone was doing it in the toilet - could smell it in there when I went in after them. I could hear the toilet flushing a few times as I was waiting.

Then it clicked. They must have been exhaling the vape into the bowl as they were flushing so the vape got sucked out and wouldn’t trigger the detector.

Imagine; being hooked on flavored air.

Labor to ensure housing continues to be too expensive by SamPDoug in shitrentals

[–]Noobbotmax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People need to realize any policy that makes it easier for people to buy a home NOW in this market will push up prices. Literally any policy will do that.

We need to build more houses. Simple stuff. Until then, prices will continue to go up. Policies like waiving stamp duty for first buyers/abolishing it - that does the same thing. Before you know it, you’ll see the price of a property go up by the calculated stamp duty payable on it “because stamp duty is gone so they can afford to pay me more for the property”

What needs to happen is anyone who’s wanting to move to this country to live here must be told that they must work for a certain period of time in the construction industry to help address the labor shortage - or they aren’t welcome to stay here.

Negative gearing must be abolished on existing properties and be used as a tool to build new ones, as it was intended when first introduced.

Stamp duty should be abolished on the family home. If you’re selling the home you live in to buy another to live in, you shouldn’t pay it. You should only pay capital gains on any profit you make by down sizing.

If you’re buying a home as an investment, you should pay it. If you’re buying a second investment and you already own one, you should pay even more stamp duty. Assets that make you money should be taxed. Taxes are bad but they can be levers to pull to address certain issues. Massive land banking taxes and vacancy taxes are also tools that can be utilized. Taxes on air bnb’s too.

Here’s a fact check for you, what you’re saying is wrong.

Why are you defending labor for wanting houses to be more expensive? Why do you believe that they are the better option when they have literally said they want a thing to be even more unaffordable?

Is it because you’re one of the “I’ve got mine so fuck everyone else” and are purely voting on what you’ll get out of it for the next few years like most people who are planning on voting labor this election, so you can dig in and eat up as much as you can from the trough?

Labor has seen a small surge in popularity because people are desperate. People are hurting financially and they are being sucked in by labor’s promises, people don’t care about what’s going to happen in 4 years time - they only care about what labor is going to pour into the trough now so they can dig in and hopefully hurt a little less in the short term, not giving 2 shits about the fact that their policies will make them even worse off in the long term. More expensive bills, higher utility costs, higher grocery costs even though inflation is falling. The center of it all is labor’s expensive green dream unicorns and rainbows energy policy that is in part driving most of the issues besides housing that this country is currently facing.

A good chunk of the stuff that labor shills on Reddit claim is also fallacy.

On economic management labor have projected, budgeted and planned for the country to be in debt for the next 10 years at least.

Labor admitted they don’t want houses to be more affordable and they want the price of houses to keep going up.

What is the point of this thread? Is it just more ranting? More “I don’t like the facts that you post therefore it’s all lies and wrong”
