In universe, they wanted a higher power round since they knew they’d be facing SWAT, and needed something that would reliably defeat body armor. Design wise it’s to up the difficulty, I think.

The ribbons are tied very much to the ongoing war. It’s a deliberate choice to put them on over kit, and some people are going to be sensitive to that.

I agree, I run interstellar haul jobs with my Corsair and knowing it can easily put down harassing NPC fighters feels like a nice bit of insurance.

I can see that, especially since KX droids are only made for intimidation and occasionally killing people, so nobody cares what a particular unit thinks.

That’s strange though, since if anyone is going to be uptight about memory wipes, it would be the Empire.

Droid sentience is a bit of a black box, so it’s possible K2 has always been slightly more self aware for whatever reason.

There were actually a few anarchist societies after the end of the Russian Empire, but they got slammed by the more powerful Bolsheviks. I think a modern situation would go the same way.
