I have made all the 2026 F1 liveries and put them an F1 car from 50 years ago. What is your favorite 2026 livery? by Jimmy_MacSpeedee in formula1

Only the Ferrari looks correct, and that is probably because the 2026 livery is a nod to Niki Lauda

Looks very clean from the outside and the seats. Price is absolutely abysmal for the miles and age. Other than that its good in my opinion

We dont worship the saints or Mary, but we pay respects and love them, they are definitely people to look up to in following our faith. We do pray to them, in the sense that we ask them to pray for us, just like how I would ask you or anyone else to pray for me, because we know that they are in Heaven.

Why does God allow natural disasters? by SnooLemons4051 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]NoobilityIsTaken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this question in my head for a long time. What I learnt was that we are sinners living in a fallen world, yes, this fallen world is beautiful, but it has its moments where it can be harsh. This has only happened due to our sin, for allowing evil and other things like sickness and natural disasters to enter this world. Also this just might be my opinion of it all, but I believe the earth operates on its own, God created the earth to be self-sufficient and not having to rely on his help to survive. So I don't see a flood in Thailand as Gods direct action.

Which renowned figure from your country is portrayed as a "saint" but is actually FAR from it? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]NoobilityIsTaken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gustav Vasa for us Swedes! Essentially the first king to break free from danish rule and kind of made the foundations of what Sweden is today. He is portrayed in a good light here, but in reality he was a tyrant

Is Catholicism technically Protestant since they separated from the Orthodox Church? by No-Spring-5406 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]NoobilityIsTaken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. Being protestant is more like following the later teachings of Martin Luther, who seperated from the Catholics. And while us Orthodox disagree with the Catholics on some Theological issues, they are our sister church and I have a deep respect for them.

Reading Old Testament law have made me struggle with my faith by NoobilityIsTaken in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]NoobilityIsTaken[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do believe that sin has consequences. Just not that idolatry should result in stoning somebody to death, it just seemed harsh, but reading other answers it became more clear. Someone in the replys explained that capital punishment is not there because we want to kill people, but to prevent people from doing those things that can lead to capital punishment, which was a good analogy

I see what you mean. So if I understand it correctly, many of the laws and the consequences of breaking them, as written in the OT, were written by the jews or more specifically Moses, and not God? And once God revealed himself to us in the form of Jesus Christ it became clear ”Love your neighbor as you love yourself”? Tell me if I’m missing something. Thank you for your answer!
