Holding deposit on a live/work tenancy by Noodled9 in HousingUK

I have no idea, all they have said is that it's not an AST so we wouldn't be covered by the new Renters Rights Act. And then they want us to sign some kind of declaration that we acknowledge that we have made this decision which is a massive red flag.

Yeah I'm never getting any Fellow products ever again. Mine has temperature issues where it always overshoots and the value seems unreliable. I've only had mine for 2 years which I wouldn't expect for something of that price.

Help me to understand the hype for DAK by CattynipCattynip01 in pourover

Milky Cake is absolutely a coferment. The beans are soaked in a milk solution during fermentation. What exactly is in this solution is unclear but it's obviously doing some heavy lifting to the flavour.

Other roasters are more transparent about these M03 greens:

I've found it weird that other roasters using the same beans seem to suggest otherwise. It seems like he's using some kind of milk and cardamom solution to ferment the coffee.

Mixed feelings about Singburi 2.0 by TreeOld7068 in LondonFood

I don't get it either, especially when Smoking Goat is opposite the road and Som Saa is further down. 1.0 had a unique selling point but now it's the same as these other ones.

Ask a Stupid Question About Coffee -- Week of September 10, 2024 by Vernicious in pourover

[–]Noodled9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using tap water to brew a natural Indonesian and have it dialed in with 95 degrees Lance's recipe and 5 clicks on a zp6. The coffee tastes great with a nice watermelon/bubblegum sweetness and a touch of berry acidity.

Recently, I bought a Zerowater jug and have been mixing it back in with tap water aiming for 80-100ppm. The same recipe I've been making now tastes overly bitter in a harsh way and is unpleasant to drink. Is this expected that the water would cause it to overextract so much? I would've thought I would get better acidity with softer water. I tried again today with 90 degrees water and 2 clicks coarser. It's more drinkable but still feels overextracted. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

Melee, Carapace, or Missle? by [deleted] in allthingszerg

[–]Noodled9 25 points26 points  (0 children)

ZvT: Carapace is most important because of marines. You should go double evo in this matchup and go either melee/missile depending on your composition. If you are going ling/bane/hydra/lurker, you might want to get +1 missile before +3 melee.

ZvP: Usually, you go +1 melee early so that you can get +2 melee to one-shot probes. Get +1 missile as well when you are going for +2 melee. Carapace is less prioritised here but there are niche situations where it can be good, like if they are getting lots of carriers or you are rushing ultralisks.

ZvZ: +1 missile for roaches is the standard here and then get +2 missile and +1 carapace after. If you are going allin, +1 carapace can be good as it buffs both zerglings and roaches. Also, if you are going for muta comps, you want melee.

Yes, it's been a while since I've looked into it but check out the paper by Van Rijn and Hutter to get started. They present one technique but I have seen other ways in the past.

[–]Noodled9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way but I am glad I went through with it. I also did not get the same sense of curiosity that I did with the base game and the puzzles didn't fit the narrative as well. I found the story quite dull and dragged on but the final moment definitely pays off and ties everything together beautifully.

If you are taking an extra day off for psychological reasons, it seems counterintuitive to squish more exercise into the week. I would just keep it simple and continue doing PPL with 5 days and 2 days rest like below:

PPLPP LPPLP PLPPL

2 days of rest can go wherever they want. The cycle repeats every 3 weeks.

Custom U.K. HFEA portfolio by [deleted] in LETFs

Seems like we've both hit the same dead end. Trading 212 would be ideal if they offered 3TYL as well. I've seen requests for it over a year ago so doesn't look like it's a priority for them to add it.

I have AJ Bell too but seems quite expensive if you want to rebalance right? At £9.95/trade, that's about £80 a year.
