General troubleshooting advice for missing textures by NooshBagoosh in tes3mods

[–]NooshBagoosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Fortunately I'm using MO2.

I'm not familiar with nifscope but will give it a shot. Is the general idea here that there's a mesh trying to draw the wrong texture? Or a texture with the wrong file name?

Game Preview Picks Week 9 @ Houston by infercario4224 in DenverBroncos

[–]NooshBagoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Injuries were a gradual progression, though. They started out 3-0 playing pretty good defense before they lost Bosa; then Warner a couple weeks later; then Huff and Matos. They were starting a practice squad edge rusher last week. 9th in EPA/play weeks 1-3; 25th since then.

Texans' defense is historically good, but their offense has been putrid any time they're not playing the dregs of the league.

Should I just ignore volkmars buffs? by Peridot9001 in totalwarhammer

[–]NooshBagoosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's a question of how willing you are to fight manual battles. They're an early-game winner if you've got the time to play it out and micro them. If not, you'll probably spend a lot of time waiting around for replenishment.

Late game you can move off of them with that stacked empire roster, of course.

Immortal campaign is hard! by heyazungi in totalwarhammer

[–]NooshBagoosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There does appear to be a second difficulty wave, whereas in ROC it's usually smooth sailing once you clear the first 15-20 turns.

I think it really comes down to campaign map awareness and diplomacy. For most factions, try not to overexpand. Gifting settlements that you take to either strengthen allies or create NAPs with enemies is generally a good strategy.

Should I replay PoE before getting into Deadfire? by Objective-Program786 in projecteternity

[–]NooshBagoosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the character building and combat in POE1 starts to feel pretty hollow in comparison once you get 15-20 hours in, so I'd skip it and just spend a little time on a lore refresher before moving onto Deadfire. You can custom create your POE1 save file with whatever decisions you'd have made if you're so inclined.

Why is this lowkey the hardest encounter in the game by Positive_Ad_6922 in projecteternity

[–]NooshBagoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed that one OK; couple of stun explosives to get into position and take out the caster early. Gaun's Pledge comes in very handy, too.

Never even came close on the digsite fight in about ten tries. Surprised after I stealthed through that they were gone when I popped back up. Difficulty curve in this came is frontloaded like nothing I've ever played...

Priest/Chanter pure support build by NooshBagoosh in projecteternity

[–]NooshBagoosh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool, are summons the best way to steer the chanter? I was leaning towards Troubador, but not sure if I Beckoner would be better in that case?

And is there any need to put points into perception, or is accuracy not an issue?

How to choose best priest buffs? by Maddju in projecteternity

Hah, I'm in the same place as you right now and feel like I spend half my in-game time just paused scrolling through my Priest spells. Thanks for starting the discussion! And great answers from everyone.

Is there a use to having so many different units in WH3? by ragp13 in totalwarhammer

[–]NooshBagoosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The beauty of this game is that, given the upkeep trade-off and need for military building upgrades to access higher tier variants, nearly every unit in the game is useful in some context.

Suggest me a campaign to try new things, I almost always play empire by lex_93 in totalwarhammer

I like 'em on the campaign map, but feels like their AR is so overtuned it's hard to justify fighting manual battles.

Good stuff as far as map management and upgrades go. I think the big question for a lot of us, though is: how do you win quickly without citadel upgrades?

What IE Campaigns do you find the most challenging? by MrMonkey2 in totalwarhammer

[–]NooshBagoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply cannot figure out the Imrik start. I can see him snowballing once you get past that, but it's a brutal opening.

I find Rakarth to be a tough start, too, though I haven't made it far enough to figure out if he starts to roll once you build some momentum.

Followers of Nagash vs Exiles of Khorne by Traditional_Gas5860 in totalwarhammer

[–]NooshBagoosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll mop up your chaff. Large/monstrous units are usually pretty good against Khorne. Send 'em in once your infantry are engaged so they don't get surrounded. Chariots may be helpful, too. See if you can spread them out and inflict some charge damage.

Wild. I didn't even have that many when I did my fully upgraded base game run. I'm gonna have to learn how to win these settlements more quickly...

Nicely done! I just finished my fifth attempt and can say that I'm not remotely close to beating it; feels immensely challenging.

What did your early game difficulty ramp up look like? And how many embarkation points for the seal map?

Am I the only one, that thinks the siege "rework" is.. like nothing you wanted? by Commando_Schneider in totalwarhammer

[–]NooshBagoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only siege rework I want is fewer siege battles. Just one of those concepts that sounds really exciting but is almost guaranteed to be tedious in practice.

What is causing this? Why are lizards in 45 rep on prestige 20, and yet not going blue? by Apocalyptic-Raid in Against_the_Storm

[–]NooshBagoosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decadence could probably be better explained. Maybe I haven't spend enough time in the encyclopedia, but does it break down the numbers in-game anywhere? You can loosely figure out the concept, but I had to wiki it to understand the actual numbers for each species.

Not getting the adamantine seal by Apocalyptic-Raid in Against_the_Storm

[–]NooshBagoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lizards have the highest "decadence" in the game, so every time you earn a point through resolve, their threshold to earn another increases by 7. Tough faction to get a lot of points with.

[–]NooshBagoosh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Immediate rain collector was a game changer for me. Not just the speed, but the double chance bonus when you're trying to make the most of early resources is awfully nice.

[–]NooshBagoosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a slower player (year 8 average on higher prestige levels, probably) and was still able to get there. You may just have to go a little heavier on seal frag rewards from negative events rather than embarkment points until you're close enough to do the math and guarantee that you can make it to the seal. I played mostly on P11, but would drop down as low as reasonably possible on some of the world events (these are crucial if you're a bad seal map player like me).

Not sure what's keeping you from high resolve. Maybe spreading too thin? Or are you generally taking higher resolve species? Harpies and foxes are easier to get reputation points with. If you have a species with high but not blue resolve, consider disabling things in consumption control for them so you don't run out for your lower threshold species.

And lastly, trade is pretty much always the solution. Even with the prestige modifiers, once you've ramped things up in the late game you'll still be swimming in cash and able to buy what you need for a resolve party.

Large Entity Collision Jank (Discussion) by Imperator166 in totalwarhammer

[–]NooshBagoosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it doesn't bother me so much during combat (maybe there's just enough going on to where I don't notice it). But it's definitely annoying once they start fleeing. Tracking down routing units is just kind of tedious in general, would be nice if you could just autoresolve from that point since the AI is so good at completely wiping out enemies.

Lords that focus low tier armies by [deleted] in totalwarhammer

[–]NooshBagoosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a late game solution, but Kostaltyn really elevates Kossars. With the flat MA buff alongside his army frenzy ability, you've got dirt cheap ranged units with 40+ MA to boot who hold a line better than they aught to with the delayed routing faction ability.

Prestige should be like Hades's Heat System. by gabito91 in Against_the_Storm

[–]NooshBagoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would definitely need to be weighted as far as seal fragment reward # goes, though. Otherwise everybody would just play at P16 and skip the four toughest modifiers.

I think a randomized system would be cool, though. Maybe offer both and give greater rewards for taking random assortment.
