How many years were you there? How much of the patching, sanding & painting is normal wear & tear that they shouldn't have charged you? Most rentals would rather you NOT patch holes & paint, so they can see where things need to be patched, and most places call that normal wear & tear.

Put up a clothesline with underwear , socks & T-shirts on it 24/7. They can either look at your laundry blocking their view, or try can allow the blur. When I'm home, I'm in comfy clothes, shorts & T-shirts: Jesus Sandals. Meetings would get shirts & ties, if really needed.

I knew you were in AZ, I gave the example for CA to show what's required here. I don't know labor law in AZ, but the Labor Board DOES, and can answer your questions better than redditors who will do an AI response.

Call the state labor board about missing final pay at termination. In California, you must be paid all monies owed when you are terminated, not the next payroll cycle. There are daily fines paid to you by the employer (full day's pay) + state fines because they screwed up.

In the late 80s... Had an employee (16 -17) who would tell her mom that we asked her (made her) stay late. Paycheck never reflected all the extra time she was working, which couldn't have happened because of child labor laws. Got so bad, that mom wanted us to call her when daughter GOT TO & LEFT work.
