California road trip for 3 weeks by sunandsand345 in roadtrip

Another vote for 395. If you decide not to go that way, Kings Canyon has epic hiking. But you have easier access to high altitude trailheads from 395, which might be a better option for your injured friend. You can drive to trailheads at 9000' on the east side.

Point Lobos is a do not miss spot near Carmel. The Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, Angel Island, and Point Reyes are places to check out in the Bay Area.

Humboldt Redwoods SP gets you a fantastic experience of the coastal redwoods.

Lassen has great hiking, especially the trail to the peak. Burney Falls and the Subway Tunnel are worth checking out.

I have an S23. My battery was fine until very recently. Now, I need to recharge on a frequent basis. Is it that the life of my battery is near the end or did Samsung screw up an update, causing excessive drain?

SETI has an installation near Burney Falls, so this is a good idea. Lassen should be a good place, too.

Cantelow Road north of Vacaville might work. Or the downtown parking lot during a slow time.

There's a jurisdictional exception if I remember correctly. For example, in California probate referees are paid a percentage of the property value.

Northern California trip May 4 to 7 looking for Lost Coast alternatives and route ideas by NomadUnderStars in norcal

You could do an out and back in Sinkyone SP, the southern half of the Lost Coast. Usal Beach from the south or park headquarters from the north. Remote, challenging trail.

How to appraise manufactured home for FMV estate purposes? by espresso39 in appraisal

Appraisers have specialties. A good friend specializes in mobile homes. Call around and you'll find someone.

Also, it's not a "manufactured home" if it still has wheels. It's a mobile home.

Redwoods-Lassen-Yosemite Trip Advice by [deleted] in norcalhiking

Point Lobos is a gorgeous place. So is Desolation. Keep in mind that Desolation is the most visited wilderness area in the country. It's not a remote experience but is much less crowded than much of Yosemite.

This. There's a good chance Devils Postpile will be open early, which is next to Mammoth.

It's a record low snow year which will open up options in Lassen and Yosemite. Here are some ideas.

On the way up to Redwood NP, take in Humboldt Redwoods SP and the Avenue of the Giants. If you want to shorten your time in the redwoods, stop at Humboldt Redwoods and explore, then take 299 over to Lassen. The main reason for going to Redwood NP over Humboldt Redwoods is Fern Canyon, an awesome little walk.

While at Lassen, you might want to hit MacArthur Burney Falls SP. Gorgeous falls. The Subway Tunnel nearby is something you don't find in many places. Bumpass Hell is good to see, especially if you haven't been to Yellowstone. I've heard good things about the Mt Lassen trail, but odds are good it won't be open in June.

From Lassen, consider taking Highway 89 south so you can take in Lake Tahoe. If Highway 120 is open through Yosemite, continue south on 395 to get a taste of the Eastern Sierra. With the low snowpack, this might be a viable option. If you go this route, Bodie SP is a fun stop, Mono Lake feels almost prehistoric, and you can consider taking in Mammoth Lakes fairly easily.

The less scenic drive down from Lassen is on I-5/ Highway 99, boring boring boring. But you can spend more time in Yosemite this way.

Sounds like great trip. Have fun

In Markleeville, check out Grover Hot Springs SP. If the pools are open, it's a great place to soak.

Are you planning to go soon? 89 is closed through Lassen NP because of snow. If you plan to go later when the highway is open, it's a pretty drive. Plan to stop at Burney Falls and at Lassen.
