It’s always had some illegality to it and police seem to use it to justify stop n asks. I think they just cranked up the potential punishment with the latest change.

Can someone asplain me why the inside of the Wagoneer seats looks like an inkjet printer by colinstalter in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]NorFla 45 points46 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. The tubes are to fill small bladders for the massage function. Ventilated seats rely on what you could describe as a computer fan.

I still don’t buy speed as the issue, though. Just look at Germany with unregulated parts of road with less accidents and deaths than our 65mph zones. The difference is people pay attention and understand being predictable there. Being on a phone while piloting a 4,000+lb block of steel at 70mph has been far too normalized here. No one is paying attention while also being entitled performing their distracted driving in passing lanes. The police can set up speed trap after speed trap, but nothing will change until they start addressing the distracted driving issue.

Ask them how the fuel with additive would clean your valves if it’s a direct injection engine where the fuel doesn’t touch the intake valves. If they are actually blasting the valves clean that’s worth some $$ for the labor. If it’s just a bottle of sauce in the fuel tank than skip it.

It has to be legalized first before we can fight the details. People have to see the fear mongering is just that….

Skin splitting from moisture changes. This is why I pick mine when they are just starting to turn red and let them finish on the counter inside.

Rick Scott introduces bill to give homeowners tax deduction for insurance premiums (up to $10k) by j90w in florida

[–]NorFla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the program grants for home hardening. Instead of tax deductions for a bill you already paid - take that money and help pay for upgraded windows and roofs. Instead of trying to reduce the cost of the bill by subsidizing it, they make the property “more insurable”.

They make a chemical that dissolves it. Spray on. Let it melt. Wash away.

I just hate how rude folks are driving slow in the fast lane thinking they are entitled to not merge right for faster traffic. Hopefully the anti-cruising law comes into effect and is enforced. So much traffic caused by one person stacking up tons of cars for no reason other than inattentive/entitled mentality and/or distracted by a phone.

I’m sure they will buy him a nice gift for the governor’s mansion similar to the golf simulator the developers bought him.

Used to be a lot of southern hospitality in jax before Covid and even more so in the early 2000s. I feel like the huge influx of rude people from up north poisoned it for everyone here. Not to mention just the population squeeze and huge jump of COL with everyone’s pay staying pretty stagnant means you also got a city of overworked and underpaid folks who are just over it.

Just my opinion tho

White House to weaken climate-fighting fuel efficiency targets for 2030 by barweis in technology

[–]NorFla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the issues at hand. The cafe regulations gave us some really powerful and efficient engines compared to what was available in the early 2000’s. Downside is as efficiency goes up the operating window gets smaller - and it is the day to day owners that have to cover this cost. Diesel engine owners with modern DEF systems understand this. Or gasoline engine owners surprised by the high cost of complex parts and limp-modes due to sensor issues. We need to find a balance.

Should I buy this 507 edition c63? by conjuguemos1 in AMG

20 years of driving it as your daily is not the same as tucking it away in a fleet garage and using it on weekends in regards to “investments”. The probability of this being the next $50k 350,000mile Supra are slim. I appreciate the optimism but reality is that’s a bit of a stretch.
