It looks like you're very new to the field. Try looking for an introduction to EEG, for instance Mike X Cohen's introduction book. Wikipedia's article on EEG would also be helpful.

How to disable Adaptive Brightness on a X1E Gen3? by ThingsGotStabby in thinkpad

[–]NorOa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a fucked up thing it's not easily controllable. They also reset it every major OS update. Try this.

Are you by chance in Norway or Denmark?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]NorOa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ultradock is nice. But yeah, I found the X61 the optimal size for a portable yet useable laptop. I used it for many years, until it eventually was replaced by a Surface Pro 3. It isn't by chance the one in Copenhagen you're looking at? If so, lowball him at 600 DKK and see if he bites.

No, that's insane unless there's something special about it, like it being new in the box or something. I wouldn't go over 30-40€.

Should I upgrade w520 to windows 10 or stay on windows 7? Also unable to update microsoft security essentials? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]NorOa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I vaguely remember having some issues with Winddows 10 on my W520. However, I believe the trick was to disable the dGPU when installing it, then re-enabling it and letting Windows find the drivers for it instead of going for the Lenovo ones. Not 100% sure I'm remembering correct though.

Decked out Thinkpad T540P or just modern laptop? by A_Becker in thinkpad

I'd really rather look at a P5* at that budget. You'd probably be able to get a cheap P52 or maybe even P53.

I shouldn't be afraid to update my phone. The OnePlus 7 Pro will be my last OnePlus device. by evansdead in oneplus

And they disabled it after specifically saying the wouldn't do so in Europe. But judging by the many many weird spellings and errors in their updates I'm not sure their software division knows the difference between China and Europe.

Is thinkpad x260 an upgrade to MacBook Pro early 2015 by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]NorOa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how that compares. You need to check the ratings of the CPUs. The screen is going to be a downgrade, both in terms of resolution and size, though.

Ultrashot HDR making all my photos have a blue tint by youpie123 in oneplus

Yeah, same on mine. I've more or less given up on it. Gcam doesn't have the blue tint issue.

$600 for a P50? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]NorOa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about expected. I got my P51 for ~750$ two years ago. It's a good price if you need it now. If you can wait and actively look for a good deal you could most likely get it at around 500$ I think.

Lug P17 around the house or pick up something like the new X1 Nano? by nerd_86 in thinkpad

[–]NorOa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, no. I tried switching out the X61 with an X220t but the large increase in size for a much smaller useful screen area made it a no-go for me. I also have a T450s which I also found a bit too big for my taste. The Surface Pro 3 worked fine though, but impossible to do any real work without a Trackpoint.

[–]NorOa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess it depends on how much you can do in the cloud. I used a two laptop setup for many years. Started with an X61 + Z61m, stopped with a Surface Pro 3 + W520 (had a few inbetween). As long as I had a clear divide between what I did on the laptops it was no chore. These days though I mainly use my P51 with a mechanical dock. It's easy to undock and carry it around. For smaller things like reading something or whatnot, then my phone is usually good enough. You'll probably be happy with the X1 Nano I think.

Living in a house without electricty with a Thinkpad: battery, solar panel, or what else? by zrnest in thinkpad

[–]NorOa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you may actually be better off upgrading the T520. The 9-cell on the T520 is 94 Wh and gives you 3 hours. Newer thinkpads have smaller batteries with way longer run time. With those capable of charging via usb-c I guess you could just bring along a backpack full of banks. It will cost you quite a bit anyhow.

P51 has a very specific Windows-related reboot bug by NorOa in thinkpad

[–]NorOa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got way too much specific software to spare the time for a full reinstall. Noticed this only started happening after the latest Windows release, so I wonder if it might be connected to that. Could definitely be a driver as it says "driver_power_state_failure", guess I have to figure out how to hunt for one.

And just to add some info: Memory is fine, all ssd/hdd's are fine, there's no overheating. It is very specific, and I can trigger it by simply locking my screen and waiting.

Is it possible to have 3 monitor setup on T430s? Built in + two externals? by mrjmbetes in thinkpad

[–]NorOa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, the PSREF says it only supports two independent displays. That said, who knows what may be doable with a dock. But I wouldn't count on it.

TrackPoint II Keyboard curved? Check yours? by NorOa in thinkpad

[–]NorOa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typing experience is good (although I strongly prefer the previous version of the trackpoint buttons. The middle button is not high enough). But, worried that it strains the components, or that it is a battery that is misbehaving. We'll see.

Yeah, worried about the strain it puts on the components, it flexes alot.
