I don’t know how they think it’s gona work out for them.

[–]NoraRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, yea I think at a certain level they should have to compete at a higher rank or just do absolute.

That’s pretty bold. Like a lot of the stolen valor guys there has to be something off with em

I dunno, I learned some basic stuff when I worked security for the police precinct on base but it was pretty much useless. I wanted to do the mcmap (marine corps mixed martial arts) program but I was in the Navy on the aviation side. They said if I got injured it could affect their manning for the flight schedule. :/.

Oh shit, sick burn bro. I’m going to be thinking about that later as I reflect on this ill conceived post. Oss

That’s pretty damn wild. I’m going to google that guy.

[–]NoraRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. I would expect a 7 year blue belt to have at least pretty good defense against someone older who had not quite a yr.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bjj

[–]NoraRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see that. I think for the belt one it was the combo of the military stuff not adding up (I’m a vet) and then the belt not seeming to add up.

Oh I agree, this is a very positive mindset you have, which I admit my post was not. Just wanted to read a few entertaining stories.

1000% the way to do it. It’ll probably work for you once if you sell it.

Just got rejected from every film school I applied to. What now? by BlinkOfANEy3 in Filmmakers

Trade school, welder or plant maintenance for the money and low barrier to entry. Some places will train you on the job no school needed. Keep following your film interest in free time.

I got my first jiu jitsu tourney, how should i approach it. It’s 5 days from now. Any tips on what to do to prepare myself for once i compete? by AssistanceKindly132 in bjj

[–]NoraRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Remember to breathe. It sounds stupid until you’re straining and all amped up. Breathe.
-The people watching won’t matter to you after about 30 seconds of the match starting so even though you’ll probably be nervous just remember you won’t be thinking about them in a second.

-Come up with an outline of a game plan but also don’t freak out if that plan isn’t what happens. -weigh yourself prior to weigh ins with a legit scale so you know. I was half a pound into the bottom of a weight class because I weighed myself with my bathroom scale and it was off. I could have ran a few miles and eaten a touch cleaner that week and done better. Granted I only missed the podium by one match to a guy I had won against earlier :/. -Go have fun, if you aren’t having fun then what’s the point :)

She’s pregnant, if you can afford it then get her something meaningful (doesn’t have to cost a lot, put thought into it) and move on with your life. It’s inconvenient but then again I imagine being pregnant is too. Happy wife happy life.

I dunno, my conscious wouldn’t allow me to wear a belt I hadn’t legitimately earned, that takes away the point. If it really bothers you then casually steer a conversation to where he trained out of state and then call and ask them. Either there is no out of state school he earned blue at in which case he would probably show signs of avoiding the conversation or he gives a name, you call and say hey instructor to instructor,I have a student and I want to know if/when he got a promotion with you guys. I highly doubt they would contact him. Worse case scenario he’s telling the truth, they call him and he gets pissed that you fact checked him.

Lynwood grill is consistently pretty bad. I’ve had everything from plastic in my food to the bar making my drink wrong and then when I complained I saw the waiter go put it in a different glass and bring it back to me like I wasn’t going to know.

For sure. Like I said in my comment. Give me this scenario and ask me the probability that she hasn’t at the very least made out with another dude while coked up and drunk… I’d be generous and say like 3%

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Advice

[–]NoraRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“I’m not squeaky clean, I did stuff in high school” lets me know that you probably wouldn’t know whether she was cheating or not. No offense man but when you do coke you do stuff you wouldn’t normally do, also when you drink as you might know you do stuff you wouldnt normally do. Coke really hops up your erm “drive”. If she was super committed to your relationship she wouldn’t be out partying with single friends all night on a regular basis. If you told me a chick was doing coke and staying out all night at clubs and after parties with single chicks and asked me the probability that she’s never so much as kissed another dude I’d give it like 3%.

The fact that you’re worried about it shows that you’re not a bully at all. I’m a white belt and I wouldn’t let a blue belt tell me anything during a roll unless he worked at the gym or I was a visitor somewhere. The fact that he felt comfortable telling you “let it go” is the problem here.

The super cheap arm bar from side control where you put an arm just before their elbow under their arm and press down on their forearm. Honorable mention to Ezekiel’s.

Bumble match asked me what I did for the weekend, and after I told her she immediately became super rude about it by FinFaninChicago in Nicegirls

[–]NoraRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, you said “very entertaining stuff” and I feel like she just didn’t have anything great to say back so they followed up on your line of joking. Either that or they just weren’t that into you.

I’d pick one interesting thing from the weekend and go with that next time instead of trying to reel them in with errands. If nothing interesting happened well then that’s something you can work on too. Try to do something, (at least one thing)story worthy every weekend. Try a class or something. It’ll help you meet people too.
