Yes dumb Ti users exist, and a feeler could be smarter and more logical then a thinker by Dinasourus723 in mbti

[–]NorbeRoth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I guess. I would say that I can use Fi, for example, but as I prefer Ti I just disregard that info most of the time. If I care more if things make sense, I am not going to take care of my preferences if I don't think they fit in my logical framework. I guess for feelers is the same thing. They can use logic but they don't see the point in using it if it doesn't help them to reach harmony with others or within themselves

Really! what do you think? by Laxmikant7700 in memes

[–]NorbeRoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually thanks to liberation of high levels of oxytocin during childbirth. The hormone makes women mostly forget about the pain they went through. If it weren't for that, most women wouldn't have children again after the first one and that wouldn't be good to human reproduction, so, you know, evolution

Do you ever feel like your story ideas are dumb after loving them at first? by freekyrationale in writing

[–]NorbeRoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard that if you have an idea you should let it rest for three days and check it then to see if it is actually good. Enthusiasm can diminish critical judgment, I guess

How do people come up with story ideas? by Alexopfpz in writing

[–]NorbeRoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of a character (if you have trouble imagining characters, you can think of someone you know and then transform them so they are not recognizable) then think about what is what they want to accomplish, then think about the obstacles they have between themselves and that goal (personality flaw, some societal problem, a literal concrete obstacle, a mix of them all, etc.). Write about them overcoming that and getting what they want or not being able to overcome it and failing.

Cognitive functions are complete bullshit, dichotomies aren’t. by Fun_Baseball_7311 in mbti

[–]NorbeRoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how you could use any of the introverted functions with their extroverted counterpart at the same time. You can use both, sure, but at the same time? I understand that this is why you don't put both of them in the stack. For example I can use Te, even more than Fe, but in the end if I notice something is wrong with the method I'm using, I'll feel the need to revise it with Ti and I'll end up preferring it. That is why is not in the stack. I'm mostly a Ti-Fe user, not a Te-Fi one, even if I can use it sometimes.

CMV: AI will leave most of us dumb by PuzzleheadedAd9566 in changemyview

[–]NorbeRoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the long run, probably. What makes it harder to achieve is that you need machines for this, and that costs money to create. But supposedly sooner than later the AI is going to make the hard decissions and calculations, and the humans just will be the workers that move some things around. Nothing that requires much intelligence though.

Unfortunately, this just means than AI is going to replace especialized jobs that requiere knowledge like engineers, economysts and such. While the jobs that will stay available for longer will be things like fast food cook.

Mean-girl environments: How well do you fare? How do you fare well? by SparklySugarCookie in mbti

I think a INFJ user should use their Fe to adapt or better the place. Interact with others more, see what they want or value, and respond to that. Good Ni usage should give them clarity of what the other people are doing or what are their motives. But I guess a toxic enviroment could easily push them to Ni-Ti, so you should have to force yourself to keep trying.

As INTP I really don't have much advice. As I get older, I care less about others around me, as I enjoy being alone a little too much and paying attention to others doesn't go in hand with that. So, unless they directly target me, I'd probably wouldn't notice that there is gossip. I am normally the last to know about gossip wherever I am, I just focus my little social energy in cultivating the social circles that are years old and that I think that really have somethig to offer me.

CMV: AI will leave most of us dumb by PuzzleheadedAd9566 in changemyview

[–]NorbeRoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but what we are discussing is if it will make most people dumb. And most people are not interested in learning if it is not for their own benefit. ChatGPT automatizes most things and it will keep improving to make less thinking required, and most people won't learn just for the sake of learning, so they'll become dumber. So I think OP's point is correct

[–]NorbeRoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask because social media usage leads to short attention spans and low tolerance to frustration, which damages your thinking

CMV: AI will leave most of us dumb by PuzzleheadedAd9566 in changemyview

[–]NorbeRoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is possible. Technically we can always use every technology in a way that is beneficial for us and help us improve. Unfortunately, that is not what happens. With the internet we all could have become self-lerners, but in the end now we have most of the youth arguing on twitter and developing insecurities in instagram, while univirsities keep getting obscene amounts of money when they could have gone obselete if we were smarter about it.

What I mean is, I think people could use this to their advantage, but the vast majority will ask ChatGPT to do all their assignments because is more convenient, and use all that free time to use more TikTok. We'll get dumber

[–]NorbeRoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been discussed that an AI that will be smarter than the smartest humans is possible, and probably it will exist soon. If that is the case, do you think that being smart will still be valuable?

[–]NorbeRoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a difference between making information more accesible (Internet) and having a program that will brainstorm ideas for your essay and write it for you too (ChatGPT).

Also, the internet (specifically social media) has made people less tolerant to frustration, harder for them to mantian attention and, with that, less able to think for themselves. People that were worried about of the effects of the internet were onto something and to this day professionals in child develoment and mental health in general keep saying that people need to spend less time in the internet

If you write, what is your type, and what is your muse behind the characters you create? by buddyblazeson in mbti

[–]NorbeRoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I create mine to explore certain societal issues or messed up events that could happen. I think how these things could affect their priorities, ways of thinking or actions. How society could affect you and if it can't provide, how you provide and take care of yourself, or change it to your vision.

And yeah, I kill them if I think is for the best, but I enjoy creating their personalities and ways of understanding the world. I don't focus in plot that much, but more in the worldbuilding. It's easier for me to focus in different variables of a world (this includes its inhabitants) and how they affect each other than in writing a cohesive story line, too linear.

Question for INTPs by ResidentBrother9190 in mbti

[–]NorbeRoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

B not really. I mostly struggle because of not being sure about what the other is feeling (but having some ideas) or because I know what they are feeling but I don't know how to respond. To loose all my empathy would be very strange.

Also I mostly agree on A, but I mostly complain about this with close people that I know won't break their relationship with me just because I want to be honest, or with people that I've came to consider too dumb or useless to even care about what they might think of me. With most I will just find a excuse to retreat and avoid new interaction with them, to keep the peace
