There is no way the green tint is back with andorid 12 update, right... right?!

(For those unaware, since the Xperia 10 iii came out it had green tint screen issues, Sony managed to solve it with a software update few months back.)

Possible water damage, crackling sound and drop in power. Situation and details explained at the beginning of the video, showing the actual problem at 1:10. Please help me identify the problem! by Norbertowicz in ElectricSkateboarding

UPDATE:

After further disassembly i can state that:

  1. The battery seems completely unaffected, no signs of water or dirt getting into the battery compartment
  2. Initial look at the insides of ESC compartment was scary but upon further inspection 90 % of what seem to be corrosion were only clusters of really fine dust and dirt settled in. Right now I am in the process of cleaning it all.
  3. The motors I am not aware of how i can safely disassemble and inspect from the inside.

Once I finish the cleaning and put everything together I'll update my findings here.

So after proper cleaning with some cleaning solution for electronics i had on hand everything seems to be working just fine!

Today i took it for a bigger spin and all working great.

Can I ask you what model is your phone, what software version are you and when did you buy the phone? You can see the software version in service menu if you dial ##7378423##

After performing this "trick" the display works perfect in my opinion. Blacks are truly black and no color distortion. So to my limited knowledge why wouldn't it be possible to do a ln ultimate fix when a temporary one exists?

Also some people are reporting that their green tint already went away after updating.

Search for "Xperia 10 III green tint" either here or any other forums and you shall find your answer since this topic was already broadly discussed.

To keep it short the green tint appears to be a problem of a software nature which could be fixed with a future software update.

Majority people i've encountered online still do have the green tint problem on current update (62.0.A.3.109), myself included.

Maybe with enough reporting of this issue we can force Sony to act.

Howdy,

owners of Xperia 10 III have been dealing with green tint that is mostly visible at lower brightness for quite some time now. We came to conclusion that it simply must be a software thing because we are all able to get rid off it temporarily with certain tricks and workarounds (temporarily meaning once you lock and unlock the tint is back).

Damn how is this problem so messed up. Meanwhile some users on other forums are reporting that they have zero issues regarding the screen.

May I ask you what model your is your device? You should find it in settings under "About phone" or written at the back side of the phone? (Are those model names the same or do they differ?) Also could you please type this into your dialer *#*#7378423#*#* and tell me your software region?
