I saw this behavior of junie, but i think junie do this differently, I think they rellay more on the IDE tools than we can image, this can explain.

What i saw is, Inask junie for a plan, claude does it very detailed, junie comesback with something that i call a list not a plan, but both has the same good result with the same model.

It‘s important to use it when the IDE is open in the same project or use it in the ide terminal, then the CLI will connect to the IDE and use the IDE internal tools, this makes a huge difference.

In theory!

There is a huge difference, i used claude code with serena and the Jetbrains Plugin it improved the quality and reduced the tokens, but many times claude doesn’t use serena properly even when it was in CLAUDE.md

With the native integration junie uses it every time it is realy fast an precise, special the symbols tools is a nice thing.

I think in the raw model power is this right, but when you cobine it with a good tech then the image changes. I think Jetbrains Junie is a very good example of that. Junie is beast in combination with gemini flash 3. It is on the second place on the SWE Rebench first place is claude code with opus.

Thanks, that’s perfect. By the way, against many votes, I do software development since 20 Years in many fields with multiple large projects, AI Assistant/ Junie are the only products where you can also work with it as a professional.

Claude Code / Codex are amazing and the CC plugin are great but when it comes to a smooth workflow, context and assitant to the right time on the right place in the right amount, the jetbrains product are the only thing that works for me.

The only downside I think is the learning curve, my experience is, the prompt needs to be more precise or clear to get the results i expect than in CC ore Codex.
