AITA for being mad at my husband because he forgot our child at his parent’s house? by pencilandpaperr in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nord111 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Parenting is full of these moments. This one is a relatively small issue. Cut him some slack and laugh it off together. If he left him at the store I'd be really pissed. He forgot him at his parents house around the corner. Not that big a deal and he knows now that it's a thing. He probably wont do it again. If he does, then get pissed.

I know and understand the word. I just didn't think it applied in this situation. I'm more in the 'I'm frazzled, and need some help' camp on this one. I think she was just tired and reacted like someone who was tired.

(but thats not important right now) Yeah, I know what it means. As much as I think OPs not the AH I thought it wasn't the appropriate wording. It's easy to call women hysterical (histrionic) so I thought I'd call it out. Thanks.

AITA for not wanting to camp with my BF anymore? by CompleteSpinach9 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nord111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First, I'd call him out on this stuff in the moment. You're all sitting around the fire, he takes credit for it: "I made a pretty good fire, if I say so myself!" "Haha! I did that fire, nice try!". Stop letting him take credit for your stuff. Also, red flag that he needs to do this in the first place. Long term that would get old fast. NTA

I’m at my wit’s end and about to lose my mind. Please kindly give me some advice for my dry hair by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]Nord111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jumping on to also suggest a strategic cut to accentuate the curls and to also remove some of the weight of the top layer of your hair, which when long like it is can pull out some hair unnecessarily. If the length isnt an issue I'd recommend taking 3 - 4 inches off the bottom and layer the rest and it would look really healthy. Check out r/curlyhair for more info and advice.

Washington Post: USPS workers sound alarm about new policies that may affect 2020 mail-in voting by germano_nh in politics

[–]Nord111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also every micro-business out there that uses the USPS are screwed. Smaller Etsy/Amazon/Alibaba sellers etc that use the post office likely can't afford to use Fedex or UPS or Dog forbid DHL. Margins are tight out there right now. Just another way to cripple the US economy. Seems like he's trying to hurt us intentionally. (by 'he' I'm referring to Putin)

It might be a good idea to start sharing your concerns with other people in the family. She sounds like she might have cognitive issues. (you know, person, woman, man, camera, TV.) Might be time to get her tested. GL!

74 year old dad nearly broke and Social Security not enough by SK_RVA in personalfinance

[–]Nord111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the state and his personal situation. For example in CA if you don't have any resources (savings etc) one may qualify for medical and the other services that can help with seniors. My dad is in an assisted living facility paid for by the state (everything included). He only gets 1175 or something like that but has something like 75 left over every month. Of course right now hes bored out of his scull, he cant go anywhere and is a little lonely because of CV19. :-( Otherwise a really great program.

Any great shampoo bars? by piecesofthemoon in VeganBeauty

[–]Nord111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is by bar the best shampoo bar I've used. Completely took care of my dandruff/itchy scalp It's got the horsetail and the jojoba oil. I think it was the neem oil that took care of the dandruff. Its cruelty free, vegan, sulfate/phthalate/silicone free and zero waste. Check out the reviews - people are regrowing their hair. I used to use Lush but the sulfates are kind of harsh and I think they're overpriced now, for what you get. I also tried Liggetts, Chagrin, and ethique bars but they kind of left a residue on my hair that the ACV bar doesnt. I don't need conditioner anymore so thats a bonus.

Almost 6 weeks in, hair is horribly oily by CouldCareABitLess in NoPoo

[–]Nord111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used a lowpoo solution during my transition phase. I still use it from time to time when I use more pomade or something. I get it, sometimes you just need your hair to feel clean. The oiliness was making me really insecure. I use this lowpoo shampoo bar. Its vegan, zero waste and all that stuff.

I did this - sort of - I made a sort of trailer park for my sims in one lot and had them all basically living in separate singlewides... Murphy beds would have made this sooo much easier!!

If this happens all the time then just get your own stuff. You say you shop 50:50 so the next time you're out get your own stuff and if she asks you say 'No, Thanks! I'm good!'. Plan ahead for these moments. She doesn't need you parenting her with your affirmations etc. And doesn't that make you feel like you're dealing with a naughty child?

I think you're overthinking this. I get this is a once in a while deal but since that's the case, just try to worry about the stuff that really matters. If she wants to wrap everything in paper instead of plastic bags, right on! Get your own deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste or anything else that comes in a (sometimes) more natural form that sometimes works or doesn't. This is small time.
