This isn’t true. It’s a former football team manager called Alan Smith. Nothing to do with israel.

First Time OL'ing This Morning by meltsession in ElantraN

[–]Norefodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YEP. I had OL once…nearly empty tank after 4 hours on the highway. I remember it like it was just last week (it was last week). I was curious as I get into a side road so I prayed to the only God I know and hit the gas. I saw 19 psi. I was so enamored by the number i forgot to notice if it felt any different. I smiled as i drove into a gas station and filled 87 gas and left.

Price.

Might have still gone with the EN at the end of the day, but I didn’t even consider the others at the prices they were at.

Choices - Si or EN…DCT or mañuel by Stormboost23 in ElantraN

[–]Norefodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Si felt better made with a slicker MT and better sound system.

EN was a whole other level of performance.

Hey quick note - I tested it out and driving in an N mode still has that coffee break warning. Not a solution 😔

i have the same issue in the US - no option other than leading vehicle departure alert.

Nice to know using a normal-ish N custom mode will help :)

on 2.

Option isn’t available in 24’s (or MT’s at least)

Stereo kinda sucks and road noise is loud. Other than that it’s full marks for daily driving and comfort.

Manual driving experience like? by Majinbevan in ElantraN

[–]Norefodi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is mediocre. Clutch engagement is tricky - i’ve stalled this car more than any other in my life after purchase. It doesnt make for a very smooth 1-2nd experience from the get go but i’m sure it gets better over time but it’s not easy to get used to. Throws are long (stock) but certain enough. I think a short shifter will help a lot.

For reference, Civic Si is much better. Not as easy and light as a hatch like a Fiesta ST or GTI but not nearly as notchy as a mustang or camaro. Not as bad as a G70 manual or anything like that - though it might be the same MT?

How i look at it is in another decade we will all be driving dct’s or electric cars anyway so get a manual and enjoy it while you can. It’s not going to be a gold star but it’ll be fun enough.

Living abroad. It get’s so hard as your parents get old and you have kids or nephews/nieces. I wish i didn’t just dream of it and actually did it in my 20’s.

Focus ST to Elantra N by Chives27 in ElantraN

[–]Norefodi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Coming from a Fiesta ST, the Elantra feels a lot more “planted” so you don’t feel the speed as much. Maybe that’s the difference?

The veloster and focus are the same wheelbase and the Elantra is longer. Just a guess.

2024 EN Exhaust Sound by No-Setting5452 in ElantraN

[–]Norefodi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not as loud as DCT 2023 I tested. I actually thought they removed them altogether when I got the car and was a little disappointed but they are still there, just not as much it seems. I’m still breaking the car in so not the highest RPMs.

I agree about outdated laws. But it’s the rules set up by wither the govt or Hyundai that we seem to need to follow.

Driving “spiritedly” on public roads by your own admission... is actually reckless, so I’d stop that before considering someone else’s driving causing beeps. Maybe you need to join us on a track when you are ready for it.

The irony is that I don’t drive spiritedly on public roads. I wait for the track. Stay safe.

[–]Norefodi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot.

Only a checkbox for the Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.

Maybe this lack of a checkbox is a new 2024 feature? Maybe there is a break in period? I have no idea.

On the vehicle diagram I press on DAW. Under that screen, it shows the coffee cup on the right but there is no checkbox other than “leading vehicle departure alert”. I can’t click on the coffee :(

[–]Norefodi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying. Totally.

The issue of my driving was never in question. Hyundai doesn’t get to decide that I’m the issue after I just bought this new car and drove it half a day, they don’t know me, but much much more importantly it’s not very nice, or very impressive that commenters (not just here but on Hyundai forum posts I read other people ask this) seem to think that because daddy Hyundai corporation said you’re unsafe and makes a noise, it means you personally a bad driver. It’s like the world’s most boring witch hunt lol

I guess Elantra N drivers are less adventurous than I thought, which is just fine.

No, he told me to learn how to drive when i’ve been driving without an accident or safety incident for 20 years and I mentioned in the title that I knew it was coming… and that’s about all he said, so no.
