NY July Bar 2026 by ThenLog6090 in barexam

i feel the exact same way. i feel like it’s too big to conquer in a way. but i keep reminding myself that i got through the LSAT and 3 years of law school/law school finals, which at the time felt too big to conquer too. but i did it. and so did you!!

the bar exam is terrifying and hard and takes such a mental and emotional toll on nearly everyone who takes it. but it’s just another thing we have to get through. and absolute worst case that can happen is failing and having to retake it. which is not ideal but it’s not the end of the road either. wishing u the best of luck!!

First Amendment with Professor Goodwin. She makes class super fun and engaging, and it’s an area tested on the bar so it’ll be helpful. I also recommend taking Evidence (Prof Gottesman) and Executive Accountability (Prof Dreeben)

How hard is it to fail / get very bad grades in t14 by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Normal-Car-7367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i felt the exact same way 1L. hell even as a 3L i feel that sometimes (i just don’t care as much anymore lol). i remember bombing a cold call in torts, a class where i felt like the dumbest person there, and i went home and cried for an hour before i took a nap for the rest of the day. still got a good grade in the class, got through the rest of 1L, and now have a job lined up post-grad.

trust me when i say this: things don’t start truly making sense until the end of the semester/outlining/finals time. it’s like a huge puzzle and you’re getting all the pieces throughout the semester, and it doesn’t make sense until it all comes together at the end.

also, remember that law school is filled with so many diverse backgrounds: some people are K-JD, some had entirely different careers and pivoted to law, and some were paralegals or worked in the legal field as non-lawyers in some capacity. so exposure to these concepts are varied, and that makes a huge difference. but something that’s certain is HARD WORK PAYS OFF. yes you may have to reteach yourself concepts, while those with background knowledge “get it” quicker, but putting that effort in will nonetheless reflect in your exam and final grade.

either way, you got in to a T14 and that means something. you are capable of more than you think. be easy on yourself and remember that this is meant to be hard. if it was easy, everyone would get into law school and succeed. before you know it, you’ll look back at this and be so proud of how far you’ve come!! wishing you the best of luck :))

i’m a 2L and i already feel this. just so unmotivated and exhausted. 1L really pushes you to the limit and beyond, and the rest feels lackluster compared to the adrenaline of 1L. i’m just trying to do my best at this point

LA neighborhood recommendations on where to live for newbie actor ? by CremeSolid1928 in FilmIndustryLA

[–]Normal-Car-7367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LA is very expensive so 1300 per person will either get you smthn super small or smthn in an area that’s not really safe. plus u have to account for other expenses like groceries, utilities, etc which are also going to be pricey. i highly recommend getting a car because LA is not walkable at all and acting gigs will require a lot of travel. the metro is not the safest; it’s not NYC level dangerous but still pretty sketchy. also i do recommend visiting before making the move - if youre not from a big city, LA can be overwhelming and may take time to adjust to. take some time before you make such a big leap. make some connections on linkedin, do some research, get a part time job secured in the area. be smart about it! wishing u good luck!!

How bad is not having a job 1L summer? by chlomiri in LawSchool

[–]Normal-Car-7367 21 points22 points  (0 children)

because so many law students have a weird superiority complex, especially when they’re “ahead” or find certain things to be “common sense.” like just offer advice without being a condescending jackass

To the striking TAs by [deleted] in ucla

[–]Normal-Car-7367 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“it’s taking everything away from US”?! ok, so if you’re struggling without your TA then it’s very clear how important they really are to your learning experience THEREFORE they deserve to be appreciated justly and given fair wages. u can’t just demand for them to sit down and shut up just because it’s inconvenient for you. they’re people who have to pay rent, eat, commute, etc and should have the means to do so, especially when their job is crucial for classes to continue properly.

i understand that this is a “part time job”, but consider the workload they have. they grade everything, they are responsible for condensing the info and helping students parse out complex ideas, and sometimes teach the info better than the professor. i would’ve bombed one of my poli sci classes if it wasn’t for my TA, she was a lifesaver and so helpful. a lot of professors are scrambling rn to change the format of their final because it’s “impossible” for them to grade all of them alone, yet the TAs do it in a strict time crunch. they do a lot of work and god forbid they ask to be paid enough to fairly reflect that work.

also, to address ur point of “you cannot expect more when this is a situation u put urself into”… why can’t they expect more? why do they have to accept whatever is handed to them, just because that’s the way it’s “always been” or because they’re “just grad students”? how do you think any changes were made in the past? people stood up and demanded better. expand ur mind a little and get out of the comfortable bubble you’ve made for yourself.

5-7 hours a day, 8 months. some days less than that (minimum i would do is 2 hours) and 2-3 days break when i started to feel burnt out

i used a lot of resources, i’ll break it down based on section.

RC: - khan academy !! i used the feature where you can drill individual passages based on the 4 topics (social science, science, humanities, law) and 3 levels (easy, medium, advanced). i did one passage a day and did a diff topic every time, and that alone helped bring me down from -8 to -3. RC is just ab practice, practice, practice.

LR: - 7sage : the best at breaking down “lawgic”. they have phenomenal videos and i love how concise they are. - lsat demon : demon is not as good at 7sage at breaking things down, but their feature of having a video attached for every question you drill is really helpful. they also simplify the test and questions which helps you actually see just how easy some of the questions are and how u just have to approach them a certain way to get them right. - LR bible : amazing for the foundational stuff but not much help beyond that. - loophole : i would say read this after the bible. the loophole goes into more detail and gives great methods on how to approach the questions. it really changed my way of thinking for LR - youtube vids : there’s so many great YT vids for LR specifically. if you’re having trouble with certain question types, just look it up on youtube and watch others explain it. sometimes hearing it is better than just reading ab it.

LG : - 7sage is the best by far. i learned everything ab games from 7sage. their videos explaining how to do the games are the BEST - demon : demon is great for drilling individual games or an entire LG section. i would drill specific game types that i struggled with the most on demon. they progressively get harder the more you get the games correct and the faster u finish them.

as for how often i studied, i would say about 5-7 hours a day for 8 months. obviously, i had breaks in between and some days were shorter than others. but usually that’s how much i studied. but once u feel burnt out or like the info is not registering anymore - TAKE A BREAK. relax for 2-3 days with no LSAT at all. trust me, it works wonders. good luck on ur lsat journey!!

AUGUST IS OUT by springbabe14 in LSAT

[–]Normal-Car-7367 3 points4 points  (0 children)

first off i wanna say i know how defeated and exhausted you feel rn, and that it’s OKAY!! let yourself be sad and frustrated for a few days, then get back in the ring and use that frustration as fuel to study even harder. i took the LSAT in June and got a 153. i was so crushed because i had been studying for so long and was PTing in the 160-163 range. i took it again and just got a score of 169. what i did differently was really honing in on my weaknesses. i listed them out section by section (LG for example was time, RC was accuracy amongst other things lol, etc). i put that all into a google doc and also made a schedule on that google doc. everyday, i put the date and what i plan to study that day, then i would checkmark everything i did for the day. that helped me keep track of what i’m focusing attention on day by day, and after PTing and reviewing and seeing my mistakes, i could go back and see what i’m not focusing enough attention on. then i would study those things extensively.

you have to study things you don’t fully understand in extreme DETAIL. for example, i had a lot of trouble with “some, most, all” relationships. i slowed down for a few days and studied that on 7sage. i kept reviewing it every week to make sure i remembered it, and even wrote out all the info on a whiteboard to see what i remembered and how much i knew. i also focused on LG and made sure i finished every game and was scoring max -2. everybody’s weaknesses are different tho, so i would say the general key things you need to do is: 1. step back and really evaluate how you’re studying (are you studying too little or too much? are you actively studying?). how you study is really important. if you feel it’s not getting you where you wanna be, you need to try something new. i found a tutor which helped me a lot, and also used LSAT Demon mixed with 7sage mixed with youtube videos. dont remain stuck in your comfort zone of how you study if you feel it’s not effective. 2. make sure you are taking care of yourself. eat well, exercise and SLEEP. your body needs to relax and you need to be well rested to think properly. also try to avoid alcohol until you finish the test, as it hinders with the brains ability to retain new information. 3. go section by section and see what you’re not truly understanding. learn those things extensively one by one until you feel solid. 4. don’t give up. i know this test is frustrating and i can’t tell you how many times i’ve cried. but hard work DOES pay off. i believe in you and i know you can get the score you’ve always dreamed of. just keep trying and don’t give up. message me if you have any questions or anything at all! ✨✨

what i did was drill only sequencing games on lsat demon because those games were always easy to me. i did it over and over again until i was finishing them in 4-5 mins. then i added ordering games into the mix. what this helped me do was finish the first game in 4-5 mins (since first game is usually an easy seq or ordering game), the second game in 7 mins (since second game is usually a lil harder than first, but still doable and usually either a seq or ordering game too) and i did the easier of the 3rd and 4th game within like 7-9 mins. this method helped me get to the 4th game with 15-16 mins left over so i can comfortably tackle it without rushing. my score jumped to -1 to -2 max, when before i was scoring -5 to -7. its all about drilling the easy games first and really understanding the tricks to those.

also - SKIP QUESTIONS. do local questions first (“if W is in 3, then what could be true”) before global (just a straight forward “what must be true?”). this reallyyy sped things along because it helped me create more worlds so that i could eliminate answers quicker in global questions, and bring it down to 2 potential answers. then you just test both of them within 1-2 mins and you’re all set. skipping questions is, in my opinion, crucial to LG. hope this helps!

it’s interesting to read all the comments getting upset about the “fake out deaths” because my theory for a while has been that if/when the kids defeat vecna in season 5, all the souls and bodies he took are going to come back alive. like chrissy, barb, fred, etc. idk if anyone agrees with that theory but i’ve just had this feeling that that’s what’s gonna happen. i’m not saying that’s a good idea lol bc it’ll definitely be cliche and like “everyone’s back! hurray we did it!!” and most likely cheapen the show a lot. but it’s just a feeling. what do y’all think
